Just like in weathering, there are different agents that cause erosion. These are water, wind, animals and
humans.
Water has force.As water flows, its force transports rock and soil particles from one place to another.
Wind carries light particles of rocks and soil, transporting and depositing them into another place. The
stronger the wind blows, the faster and farther is the erosion that is causes.Erosion by wind contributes a lot in
shaping the earth's surface. An example of this is the formation of sand dunes.

Motivation: Does the soil in one place come from another place? How is soil carried away to other places?

4.2 Activity Activity: ( Erosion by Water )
What you need:
2 tray pans
6 cups of garden soil
2 bottles of 500 ml water
What to do:
1. Place three cups of garden soil on each tray pan. Label each pan as A and B.
2. Slowly pour a bottle of water on Pan A. Observe what happens.
3. Do the same thing on Pan B but this time, pour the water rapidly.
Compare the result with Pan A.
4. Complete the table below.
