Word?” game.

Ask leading questions to guide the learners deduce the objective of the lesson.

At the end of the one (1) hour lesson, the learners should be able to:
1. Identify the basic parts of the general statement of the problem; and
2. Formulate the general statement of the problem.

C. Presenting examples/ instances of the new Writing the Problem Statement in a Quantitative Research
lesson
(Engage) In formulating the problem statement in a research paper there are two types of
problems which should be considered. These are the general problem and the
specific problems.

General problem pertains to a paragraph that gives specific details on other

essential elements which are the purpose, major variables, participants, setting,
and time coverage of the study.

General Guidelines in Writing General Research Problem

1. The general problem should be anchored in the research title.

2. The general problem is stated in declarative form.
3. The general problem should clearly state the main task/s of the researcher.
4. The general problem should present the major variable/s related to the
phenomenon to be investigated.
5. If applicable, the general problem should identify the participants of the study.
6. If applicable, the general problem should state the research setting
7. If applicable, general problem should state the time period of the study.
