ABOUT TECHFEST AND KETCON

TECHFEST AND KETCON 2024 are annual technical programs meant to encourage the inventions of
students in the University. The program is organized by APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University,
Thiruvananthapuram and is hosted by Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology, Palakkad. The
event showcases the technological innovations and advancements made by students in the university
and is a big technological event. Talented students have an opportunity to present or display their
innovative products and ideas in this program. The programme acts as a platform to engage & interact
with the new developments in the technological realm. At KETCON, research contributions by the
students, faculty and research scholars from the colleges under APJAKT university will be presented in
multiple parallel sessions. In addition to the contributed papers, KETCON will include keynote and
invited talks by professional leaders on subjects of current relevance.

APJ ABDUL KALAM TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY

APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU - formerly Kerala Technological University),is a State
Government University established on May 21, 2014 with an aim to give leadership to the technology
related policy formulation and Engineering Planning for the State. It also emphasizes to improve the
academic standards of the Graduate, Post Graduate and Research Programmes in Engineering,
Science, Technology and Management and regulate the academic standards of all colleges affiliated
to the University.TECHFEST & KETCON organized by APJAKTU is hosted by Ahalia School of Engineer-
ing andTechnology, Palakkad from 16-18 February 2024.

AHALIA SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY

Ahalia School of Engineering & Technology (ASET), Palakkad, is a NAAC accredited & ISO 9001:2015
certified institution, approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is affiliated to
the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Kerala. The college is located in a lush green campus
with a beautiful view of the Western Ghats. It provides a peaceful and congenial atmosphere, ideal for
students for their overall holistic development. Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology offers
courses in Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineer-
ing, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The students are

GENERAL GUIDELINES
• All UG, PG and PhD students of APJAKTU affiliated colleges, are eligible to partici-
pate in the competition
• To participate in TECHFEST AND KETCON 2024, a team must register online in
advance
• Only unique and functional models are eligible to be displayed in the project expo
• Any number of teams can participate from a college
• All the participants, students coordinators, staff coordinators and district level am-
bassadors will be awarded certificates
• Smoking, drinking and consumption of illegal substances are prohibited
• The judges decision will be final
• All events will commence at the scheduled time, participants should report on time
• Accommodation and food preference will be collected via google form after the reg-
istration for the particular event closes
• The above are the general guidelines. However, TECHFEST AND KETCON 2024
organizing committee has the right to alter the guidelines which may or may not be
intimated to the participants in advance

TECHFEST & KETCON EVENTS

APJAKTU is pleased to announce the following events in connection with the forthcoming Techfest
being held from 16 to 18 February 2024, at Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology, Palakkad.
Invitation is extended to all the UG/PG/PhD students in the university and affiliated colleges of KTU,
to participate in the events. Each event is devised to encourage and explore the talents of the student
community towards science and technology.
The theme for the Techfest is “Sustainable and Green Technologies”.

Project Expo: Rules & Guidelines

• Students can exhibit hardware/ software projects. Teams can consist of 2 to 5 mem-
bers
• The preliminary review will be made on February 5th, based on the abstract submit-
ted
• First prize 50k, Second Prize 30k and Third Prize 20k
• Registration fee is Rs. 500 for a team of 2 members upto 25 January 2024 (Rs 600
upto 31 January 2024) Additional members will be charged extra
• Dates: 16, 17 and 18 February 2024

Ideathon Rules and Guidelines

• Solutions to be presented for the given problem statements

• The team can consist of 2 to 5 members
• Prelims will be conducted on 5 February
• Only the shortlisted ideas will be selected for the final round
• Maximum pitching time would be 10 minutes and 5 minutes for Q & A session
• The ideas are to be presented using power point presentations
• First prize 50k, Second Prize 30k and Third Prize 20k
• Registration fee is Rs. 500 for a team of 2 members upto 25 January 2024 (Rs 600
upto 31 January 2024). Additional members will be charged extra
• Finals on: 16 February 2024

• The participants have to develop suitable codes for finding solutions to the given
problems
• The team can consist of 2-5 students
• Prelims will be conducted on 5 February 2024.
• Only the shortlisted ideas will be selected for the final round.
• First prize 50k, Second Prize 30k and Third Prize 20k
• Registration fee: Rs.500 per team of 2 for the day of the program upto 25 January
2024 (Rs. 600 from 26 January up to 31 January). Additional members will be
charged extra
• Problem statement will be given on 16 February, finals on 17 February 2024

Quiz Rules and Guidelines

• The Quiz competition will be conducted on technology and related areas. It can be
conducted in two rounds: preliminary and final round. Selected teams from the pre-
liminary will qualify to the final round
• The team should consist of 2 members
• Preliminary assessment: 05 February 2024
• First prize 15k, Second prize 10k and third prize 5k
• Deadline for registration: 25 January 2024
• Registration fee is Rs. 200 per team upto 25 January 2024 (Rs. 250 up to 31 January
2024)
• Finals on: 16 February 2024

Technical Workshops
Five workshops will be conducted on
different topics, out of which three will be
conducted as pre-event workshops by the
affiliated colleges of APJAKTU and two
will be conducted at Ahalia School of
Engineering and technology during the
Techfest days. The workshops will be
conducted on emerging areas of technol-
ogy. Students can enroll for participation
