    AUTOTECH

    AUTOTECH is a leading manufacturing of engine components in India. AUTOTECH is manufacture of


    engine parts like rocker arm& assemble, roller tappers, oil pump shaft, piston pins, cam follower
    shafts, spacers, plungers, shaft idler sand so on.
    The organization came into existence as AUTOTECH INDUSTRICS in the year 1984.
    It started in a small way and now with over 70US$ Mn in size emerging as a leading manufacturer
    and expoter of automotive products and suppliers to major OEMs in india and international.
    Autotech located in Chennai, India’ s one of the major Automotive hub having Nine Plants in
    Ambattur. Industrial Estate.
    I visit two plants in ambattur in that they manufacture of rocker arm & assemblies in both the plant.
    The process that are followed in that two plants namely CNC Milling, VMC Millling, CNC Turing,
    Induction Hardening, Grinding, Super Finishing, Sub Zero Treatment, Sub Assembly, Honing,
    Broaching, Co2 Welding, and so on.
    In that plant i see that the manufacture of rocker arm and assemblies and bearing bracket that include
    many process such that the foundry, boring, grinding, drilling and so on.
    The plant have one metallurgy lab and that lab is used find the composition of material, dust particle
    that present in the product and so on.
    Rocker arm consists following parts like inlet valve, injector, exhaust valve and shaft.
    First stage the raw material of the rocker arm parts is taken as bar and the bar is melted and poured
    in the mould in foundry section and the rocker arm parts has more burr in the casting and it is
    cleared by the filing and some other process.
    Second stage of the process the all the parts are comes to the machining section that section consists
    process like boring, drilling, chamfering, punching and so on.
    In the boring process the rocker arm parts are bored as per required diameter for in the inlet and
    exhaust in the VMC milling and CNC milling machine. And the drilling process are gone by using
    drilling machine for the injector, arm shaft, inlet and exhaust valve and so on.
    All the job are checked one by one and it is very important all the large scale industries and check the
    oil follow in the hole the all of the product.
    The plants have varies inspection instrument like GO GAUGE, NOGO GAUGE, screw gauge and so
    on.
    The metallurgy consists machine rockwell hardness tester, dust microscope and so on.
