    The hose reel is sanded flat


    on the bottom to create a bet-
    ter glue area and goes on top
    of the upper body. The suc-
    tion hose and the fire hose-
    butt up to the backrest and
    are then glued in place.The
    use of a "Quick Grip" glue is
    Top View recommended for the small
    parts. Drilling the hole with a
    hand held drill for the steering
    wheel is next. Using a skewer
    for the steering column is the
    most suitable solution.
    Measure the skewer diamiter
    first, before drilling the hole.
    The steering wheel is made
    from the peice of 12mm
    dowel. drilling the hole first
    into the dowel and cutting it
    afterwards is easier than
    Bottom View handling the small wheel on
    its own.

    The head lights are hole


    plugs (or made from dowel)
    sanded a bit flat on the bot-
    tom to create a better glue
    area.
    The search light is also a hole
    plug but can be made up from
    the dowel as well. On the rear
    bumper are two canisters,
    again use hole plugs or
    dowel.

    Finally the axles and wheels
    are lubricated with Beeswax.

    You now have built a great


    little model of an "old-timer
    fire truck"
