Scenarios
Upgrade the iBMC.
The following uses iBMC 2.50 as an example. The Upgrade Firmware page may
vary according to iBMC versions.
● The system user name and password remain unchanged after the upgrade.
● The primary and backup images of the iBMC must be upgraded separately.
● Upgrade the backup image first. After the upgrade is completed, the primary iBMC
image automatically restarts, and primary and backup iBMC images automatically
switch over. You do not need to click Image Switchover on the iBMC UI. After the
switchover, upgrade the original primary image.
● For RH8100 V3:
● If the RH8100 V3 runs in single-system mode, log in to the master iBMC WebUI
and upgrade the master iBMC. After the master iBMC is upgraded, the master
iBMC transfers the upgrade file to the slave iBMC over FTP, and the slave iBMC is
automatically upgraded.
● If the RH8100 V3 runs in dual-system mode, log in to the iBMC WebUI of system A
and upgrade the iBMC of system A; log in to the iBMC WebUI of system B and
upgrade the iBMC of system B.
If you need to upgrade the iBMC from a version earlier than an intermediate
version to a version later than the intermediate version, upgrade the iBMC to the
intermediate version and then the target version. If the upgrade to the
intermediate version fails, restart the iBMC and try again. Table 3-6 lists the
compute node models and their intermediate versions. For example, if the iBMC
source version of a RH2288H V3 is earlier than V257 and the target version is later
than V257, you need to upgrade the iBMC to V257 and then to the target version.
If the upgrade to V257 fails, restart the iBMC and try again.
