The Power Of Literacy In Jimmy Santiago Baaca s Coming...
Jimmy Santiago Baca s Coming into Language displays a dark, yet uplifting view of the
power of literacy. From his beginning in the hospital, toward the end during his
imprisonment, Baca moves from the mindset of a rebellious teenager to a poetic adult.
Through vivid descriptions, metaphors, the appeal to the audiences emotions, and Baca
sets up a transformational framework to show how literacy can be a way of escape. Baca
s story seeks to explain a point of view that one is more likely to become incarcerated
and to struggle in life if he is uneducated. I wrote to sublimate my rage, from a place
where all hope is gone, from a madness of having been damaged too much, from a
silence of killing rage (Baca).
In his writing, Baca uses word pictures to show a side of despair in his life that
eventually leads to a positive change where he now has hope. The beginning is filled
with scenarios of him working in an emergency room mopping up pools of blood and
carting plastic bags stuffed with arms, legs and hands to the outdoor incinerator (Baca),
then moves on to detailed descriptions of his times spent incarcerated, and how the
detectives treat an intoxicated man. His shrill screams raked my nerves like a hacksaw
on bone, the desperate protest of his dignity against their inhumanity. (Baca) The wording
he uses describes a vivid, violent, and at times beautiful view. Throughout the narrative,
Baca builds an explanation of the circumstances he is in, and builds a visual where
Inside Out Directed By Pete Doctor
Overview The animated film Inside Out directed by Pete Doctor is about the change
in emotions due to stress, and how the brain changes with age. The film is about the
mind of an 11 year old girl named Riley, who is trying to remain happy with the family
move from Minnesota to San Francisco. Once the family arrives in San Francisco, a
series of events happen that make her upset or disappointed. However, she tries her best
to please her parents by pretending to be happy. The movie also highlights the function
of short and long term memory, and the psychological changes in becoming a pre teen.
The major characters in the film were the personification of her emotions: Joy, Sadness,
Fear, Disgust and Anger. These five personifications worked together to allow Riley to
function, and express how she is feeling (Doctor Carmen, 2015). Pre Adolescent Female
Brain During the pre adolescent years, the brain is under major construction, but still is
able to process information, and make firm decisions based on emotions. In addition,
when a child gets older, their personality evolves, and their relationships with others grow
and change. In the film, Riley s actions were determined by her emotion at that moment,
which impacted her relationship with her parents and best friend. Also, Riley s
personality evolved when she got older. Her personality expanded to include thoughts
about boys, fashion and other teenager thoughts (Doctor Carmen, 2015). Although, the
brain has developed it
Stepinac s Crusaders For Life
By learning God s teachings, he taught us that his greatest gift to his people is life. The
gift of life is so precious and important that by ending someone s life you are breaking
one of God s laws, which is the Fifth Commandment, You shall not kill. This
commandment goes against anything that does harm to someone s life such as
euthanasia, suicide, and abortion. As Catholics, we are called by the lord to respect human
life and protect others. We accomplish this by following the Ten Commandments, most
importantly the Fifth Commandment. I am one of the members of Stepinac s Crusaders

permitted to die with dignity. What this quote means is that everyone has the right to be

Improving Quality Of Video Content Service
Abstract
With the rapid growth of technological advancements globally in the field of Cloud
computing, there s been a tremendous change in the number of customers accessing the
cloud. At this point of time the question which arises is the quality of service i.e.
streaming performance provided by cloud service providers which is a factor of
bandwidth. The streaming performance is degraded whenever we download video
content from the cloud because downloading a high quality or popular video requires
large number of peers to combine and then produce the video, for this method the amount
of bandwidth is also too high and costly. This paper mainly concentrates on improving
the quality of video content service by studying the obstacles faced by ... Show more

Many of gadgets are totally dependent on cloud for file transfer and storage of data.
Not only has it stored the data it also provides the security for the data present in cloud
with less cost. The services provided by cloud are Infrastructure as a service (IaaS),
Platform as a service (PaaS), Software as a service (SaaS), Saas users use an application
software and databases, the Saas services include Google, YouTube, drives etc(1). The
main purpose of this research is the concern we are having towards improving the
efficiency of the video content traffic because of its majority contribution in internet
traffic.
Presently, File downloading based on automotive mode switch (AMS) algorithm, this
approach is an effective but video content downloading does not always give good
performance (3). When AMS method is used the internet buffering is less but the
bandwidth is high and costly (3). Moreover AMS algorithm uses peers in order to
provide the requested video by users (3), if the video is so long then it would take
more peers in order to provide video, when there are more peers there is no proper
scheduling of peers due to which when we want to get some unpopular video the peers
provide a low quality video. By using our proposed method we are going to solve the
problem of bandwidth and cost because agents provide their bandwidth resources
constantly at a much lesser price.
