Notes

1 In welding the golden welds, the folowing shall be folowed:

a. only qualified welder with zero or less than 1% rejection rate will be allowed to performed the repair

b. welding parameters during welding shall be verified by Client Inspection to ensure approved WPS is followed

In process examination (VI) shall be performed at various stages (joint prparation and cleanliness, fit up, checking of welding parameters, preheat and
2
interpass cleaning.

3 If required PWHT shall only be performed 48 hours after completion of welding.

General Notes

1 For repair process

On all carbon steel materials, a max of 2 repairs is permitted, failure of the second repair shall require replacement of the joint including the
a.
weld zone within 20mm of the original HAZ.
On non-carbon or low alloy steels, a max of 1 repair is permitted. Failure of the repair shall require replacement of the joint including the weld
b.
zone within 20mm of the original HAZ.

2 Access working area before start of any work. Ensure cutting, welding, RT and PWHT works will not affect the nearby activity.

3 To use specialllized equipment for cutting and bevelling. HAZ and adjacent area shall be removed.

4 NDT must follow the sequence of welding.

5 NDT acceptance criteria shall be as per references Project Specification

6 Register Golden Welds as a witnessed joint. All parameter and records for the golden welds shall be kepts and compile.
