Planned Connectivity

Existing Connectivity
• Existing CPAN B1/B2 has to handover the services over UNI VLAN to co-located or nearby planned MAAN device.
• The existing out of band connectivity for management of CPAN will remain same.
• MAAN will act as transparent device for the management traffic of remote CPAN devices.
• C1 can be planned, where more than 2 directions of 100G is required. For e.g. C1 can be planned at each BNG location.
• Inter-BA and Inter-Circle services should be handed over from MAAN to upstream MPLS router (Super Edge / Super
Core / PE etc.) within BA. Handoff at BA is L2 VLAN for L2VPN and IP (non MPLS) traffic for L3VPN services.
• Inter BA connectivity directly through MAAN nodes may be avoided and in place OTN be used for this purpose. For e.g.
SER-SER and SER-SCR connectivity to be done via OTN only and not via MAAN.
• It is recommended to provide the redundant paths via MAAN within BA itself. All other redundant paths via other BA is
suggested to be routed via DWDM or OTN in other BA.

Mixed Ring with C1/B4 and B3 will cause: Hierarchy should be maintained
o Bandwidth Limitation o B3 ring to be sub-ring under B4 or C1
o Routing Scales Mismatch
