Mental health plays a vital role for overall well-being, psychological, emotional, and social

not something to be taken for granted. As of today, it is very great to see a shift in mental health
awareness amongst people as more individuals have come forward and start to seek help.

external support from either family or friends and treatment should change not just the people
but more specifically the higher sectors of the society’s belief in the significance of prioritizing
mental well-being. It’s a reminder that mental health should be part of everyone’s everyday
stresses of modern life, social changes, and the impact of global events. The COVID-19
pandemic, for instance, has highlighted the need for mental health support on a global scale
which has led to a rise in anxiety and depression (Pfefferbaum & North, 2020). Furthermore, the
burden on students’ mental health persists, with a recent study in the Journal of American
College Health highlighting academic stress as a significant concern (Conley & Chiu, 2021).

number of mental health issues and improve overall well-being (Patel, et al., 2018). People can
slowly address the rising challenges related to mental health, and in time, lead a more open and
strong community in which every individual can flourish with the support they need.
