CONCERT HALL

Statement of the problem:

The Legislative committee proposes to construct a concert hall in Tuguegarao for


the lovers of music and dances both in classic, modern, and other stage of presentations.
The concert hall is to be located on an area established on the western plan of the city
block which has been reserved for the developments of Filipino Arts and Culture. On the
west portion of the lot is the Toyota Building near the Regional Government Center and
Tuguegarao City Hall while on its east part, is a Multi-storey Hotel and grocery building. On
the north portion adjacent to the site is the Cagayan Provincial Office while on its south side
is a gasoline station. A 9 meters Major road located on the north side of the lot connecting
to a minor road that will serve as the main access of the users going to the site. The main
entrance going to the site is oriented on the east part. The technical description of the site
are as follows:

Design Objectives:

To provide a venue that can cater all the requirements of different stage
performances, thus considering all the necessary requirements such as acoustic design,
lighting layout and other systems needed for every concert.

Space Requirements:

1. An orchestra or auditorium to seat approximately 800 people and 200 people to be


accommodated in balcony and lodges.

2. Dressing room for the male and female choral ensembles with their respective toilet
facilities with bath.

3. One dressing room each for the following


a. 5 male stars with T&B
b. 5 females stars with T&B

4. Orchestra pit with mechanical movement

5. Projection booth and lighting control room

6. Storage area for stage preparation, etc. and work space for stage personnel

7. A large room stage suitable for opera plats, folk and classic dances, review, and film
shows. The back stage to be of size to permit fast scenery changes

8. Lobby and lounge; ticket and reservation booth


9. Toilet facilities for the general public

10. Administration offices for general manager, stage directors, booking director,
advertising director, production manager, conference room and general office staff
and toilet

11. A restaurant to serve light snacks and short orders, soft drinks and beverages with
kitchen storage area. The restaurant will at least serve 80 people at a time.

12. The designer is instructed to follow all modern facilities and design trends for such
building. Parking space shall be provided at the immediate surroundings of the
building and the landscaping of the site shall be made an integral part of the
design.

1. Floor plans - 1:200 mtrs.


2. Four Elevations - 1:200 mtrs.
3. Two sections - 1:200 mtrs.
