Let’s See What You Already Know

Draw a if the statement is TRUE. If not, draw a on it.

_____ 1. Testes are oval-shaped organs located behind the penis.

Let’s Study and Analyze

Draw a if the statement is TRUE. If not, draw a on it.

_____ 1. Ovaries are organs which produce egg cells and sex hormones.
_____ 2. Oviducts consist of pair of ducts leading from the ovaries to the uterus.
_____ 3. Cervix is a place where fertilized egg develops.
_____ 4. Vagina is a place in a female’s body where a baby can grow.
_____ 5. Uterus is a birth canal.

Remember This
FUNCTIONS OF THE DIFFERENT PARTS OF FEMALE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM
1. OVIDUCT - Also called as the “fallopian tube”. A tube that leads the egg from the ovary to the uterus. It
is the usual place where the egg is fertilized by the sperm cell
2. UTERUS - Also called as the ‘womb’. This is where the unborn baby is developed. It has soft, smooth,
inner lining of the uterus called uterine lining or endometrium.
3. OVARY - It produces egg cells and the sex hormones estrogen and progesterone. Matured egg cells
are released from the ovaries during menstruation.
4. CERVIX - Narrow opening between the uterus and vagina. It enlarges to let the passage of the fetus
during birth.
5. VAGINA - Also called as the ‘birth canal’. It is a hollow, muscular tube that leads to the opening called
vulva. It expands to let the baby pass through during normal delivery.

Let’s See What You Have Learned

A. Directions: Identify the word/ words beind described. Use the given letters as your guide.
1. __ G G C __ L L The female reproductive cell

3. U __ __ R __ S Placed where fertilized egg develops

4. F A L __ __ P I A N T __ __ E S Where fertilization takes place

5. O V __R I __ S Organs which produce egg cells

B. Identify the part of female reproductive system described in each item.
