The following exercises were created to prepare you for your Assessment:
Section A – has vocabulary exercises that will test your understanding on daily
conversations/words.
Section B – is all about grammar and your knowledge on the technical aspect of
the English language will be evaluated.
1- Warm up. When you first see or meet people you should always greet the person and if you
don’t know this person, you should also introduce yourself by giving basic personal information.

2- Demonstrative pronouns. Pronouns that point to specific things: this, that, these, and those, as
in “This is an apple,” “Those are boys,” or “Take these to the clerk.” The same words are used as
demonstrative adjectives when they modify nouns or pronouns: “this apple,” “those boys.”

THIS is the demonstrative pronoun we use with nouns in singular. THESE is the plural form of “this“,
therefore, we use it with nouns in plural.
e.g. This is my book.
Are these books yours?
THAT- is used with nouns in singular;
THOSE (plural form of “that“) is used with nouns in plural.
e.g. That book is not mine.
Those books are John's.
