    READING INTERVENTION
    II. SESSION DETAILS
    Session Title : Pirate Adventures

    Session Objectives : To engage students with exciting pirate stories, focusing on adventure and exploration.
    To enhance vocabulary with terms related to pirates, ships, and treasure hunting.
    To develop map reading skills and understanding of historical contexts of piracy.
    Key Concepts : Pirate-themed stories and historical tales of exploration.
    Vocabulary: pirate, treasure, map, compass, adventure, explore.
    III. FACILITATION STRATEGIES
    Components Activities and Procedures
    Preparation and Setting In  The students will have a “Word Scavenger Hunt” in which they will move around the classroom looking for flashcards with the words listed of the board.
     The teacher will then let the students read the words they found.
    Dedicated Reading Time  The teacher will show a treasure map and ask students questions about pirates.
     The students will watch the story: “Santiago of the Seas FULL EPISODE: The Legend of Capitán Calavera!”
     The teacher will ask some questions about the story.

    Progress Monitoring through  Students read independently from a selection of pirate-themed books.
    Reflection and Sharing  Students pair up to read short pirate stories to each other, then discuss the adventurous elements and historical context.
     Students recount their favorite part of the pirate story, focusing on the adventure and lesson learned.

    Wrap Up  Students will create a pirate map with a short pirate story about it.
     Volunteer students will share their stories in class.
