In the heritage town of Vigan, a group of tourists gathered at the Central


Square, excitedly anticipating a guided tour of the town’s historic landmarks. Their
guide for the day was Maria, a seasoned storyteller known for her narratives.
As Maria led the group through the streets, she shared captivating tales of
Vigan’s rich history. The tourists listened attentively, hanging on to her every word.
However, little did they know that Maria’s role as a guide had its limitations.
The tourists were captivated by her ability to breathe life into historical
events, making them feel like they were stepping back in time. Maria’s role,
therefore, was to enlighten and entertain, transforming the tour into an interesting
experience.
Maria is excellent in narrating historical tales, but her limitations became
evident when asked about the contemporary life in Vigan. She explains the dual
role and limitations of a tour guide. As the tourist continued their journey, they
embraced the idea of the destination exploration required a mixture of historical
