Gender

Gender refers to categories of nouns and pronouns that indicate masculinity, femininity, commonality, or lack thereof. GENDER

Gender refers to those nouns or pronouns that generally defines if it is a male, female, or
both or neither.
For example,
“A lioness always takes care of her cubs.”
Here, lioness refers to the female gender and cubs refer to the common gender.
“That gentleman is a very good listener.”
Here, man refers to the male or masculine gender.
In English grammar, gender is of four types-
1. Masculine gender
2. Feminine gender
3. Common gender
4. Neuter gender

Masculine Gender: A noun or pronoun that denotes the males is called masculine
gender. Examples: Father, Lion, Hero, King, he, etc.

Feminine Gender: Noun or pronouns that indicates the females are called feminine
gender. Examples: She, Mother, Tigress, Actress, Heroine, etc.

Common Gender: A noun or pronoun that indicates both the male and female is called
common gender. Examples: Enemy, Friend, Student, People, Teacher, etc.

Neuter Gender: Noun or Pronouns that defines those things that are lifeless, neither
male nor female those are said to be the neuter gender. Examples: Book, Tree, Bench,
Silver, Skirt, etc.
