5 Project objectives and its relationship Since two decades , several transport studies of lahore
with Sect-oral objectives have been carried out, funded by either international
loans or local budget plans.
The Govt of punajb has
initiated commitment to develop and improve its
public transport by implementing the lahore rapid
mass transit system (LRMTS) on the folling corridor
of lahore
Orange line: Multan road-GT road(all town to oera
Gujran) 27.1 km (proposed).
6 Description, justification and technical The overall object is to prepare 27.1 km long
parameters elevated mass transit project in the lahore aimed to
facilitate commuter`s movement in the city.out of
total section length of the 27.1 km, elevated viaduct
is of 25.4 km length while 1.7 km is cut & cover .
There are 24 elevated and 02 underground stations.
A depot and one stabling yard is providedat the two
end points.
The existing traffic system requires a major uplift
in level of services and quality in the wake of
increasing demand awing to rapid growth of
urban population .The overal object of this
project is to provide a reliable fast mode of
cummunication of cummuters and improve the
efficiency of traffic flow.
8 Annual operating and maintenance cost In february 2020, 532 million USD were funded for
after completion of the an eight year operation and mantainance for this

9 Demand and supply analysis The lahore orange line metro train project was
initiated to address the city`s growing transoprtion
needs. Its demand and analysis would involves
assessing factors like population density, traffic
congestion,economic benefits,and environmental
impact.detailed studied would analyze ridership
projections, cost effectivenessand integration with
existing transportation system to guage overall impact
on lahore´s mobility and economy
10 Financial Plan and mode of financing The Govt secured funding through loans
from exim bank of china, with a portion
funded by government o punjab itself
The orange line metro train was financed by
a soft load of 1.6 billion USD from the
export – import bank of china .
13 million USD in short term financing
from the industrial and commerical bank of
china.
