COURSE GUIDE

Course Code ENTR 30023

Course Title CASH FLOW AND CREDIT AND BACKGROUND
INVESTIGATION
Credit Units 3 Units
Pre-requisite None
Course Description This course provides an in-depth discussion of two aspects of
character and capacity-based lending: cash flow analysis and
credit and background investigation. An important means to
address delinquency is through proper client selection. The
provision of microloans relies on these in approving loan
applications because microentrepreneurs have little or no
collateral, and the cost of collateral registration usually exceeds
the amount of the loan. The course emphasizes the importance
of client selection procedures in sustaining the operation of
microfinance institutions. After completing the course, students
will also have knowledge needed in analyzing cash flow
information from the perspective of an outside stakeholder.
Moreover, students will have knowledge of balance sheet
forecasting, liquidity planning and the basics of cash
management from the perspective of a company management.
