Introduction

Opening statement: TikTok, a widely popular and somewhat controversial platform, made a
huge impact on the world of social media with the various types of content it provides. A
staple of gen z, but favored by all ages, this app's undeniable success has become a major
topic in the past few years, both for its viral/entertaining nature and the harmfulness it may
possess.
Thesis: The platform can contribute to the quality of life on a daily basis but prolonged
exposure to it can also be harmful. Do the negative aspects of the app outweigh the positive?

Siding more with the positive if used in moderate amount


The amount of influence and exposure this app can give cannot be overlooked
the entertaining factor alone is enough for the impact on the attention span and its addictive
nature ( which I will try to prove as one of the biggest consequences) to be “ignored”
Change is natural and so we must adapt
