General Instruction: Research and answer the following question.


1. Discuss the meaning of the following terms and cite example:
A. Measurement
• In educational measurement, the “events” under consideration are students’ test performances
and, in the simplest case, the numerals assigned might be the students’ numbers of correct
responses.
B. Evaluation
• Learning evaluation is the process of assessing the effectiveness of educational programs, courses, or
training initiatives.
C. Assessment
• Assessment as learning occurs when students reflect on and monitor their progress to inform their future
learning goals (formative assessment)
D. Testing
• A test is one form of assessment and refers to procedures used to measure a learners’ learning at a specific point in
time and often involves collecting information in numerical form.
2. Identify and explain the different type of test and cite example for each.
A. According to mode of response
1. Oral Test
-It can be used to measure oral communication skills
-It may be used to check students understanding of concepts, the and procedures.
-It consumes time and maybe stressful for some students.
-It favors extrovert and eloquent students.
-Appropriate for abstract reasoning tasks
2. Written Test
-Activities wherein students either selector provide a response to a prompt.
-It can be administered in a large group at one.

3. Performance Test
-Activities that require students to demonstrate their skills or ability to perform specific actions.
- Also known as performance assessments

capstone performance

B. According to ease of Quantification of Response


1.Objective - Objective items include multiple-choice, true-false, matching and completion, while subjective items
include short-answer essay, extended-response essay, problem solving and performance test items.
2.Subjective - Subjective tests aim to assess areas of students' performance that are complex and qualitative, using
questioning that may have more than one correct answer or more ways to express it.
C. According to mode of administration
1.Individual Test - It is a test administered to one student at a time.
2.Group Test - It is one administered to a group of students.
D. According to test constructor
1.Standardize Test - It is a test prepared by an expert or specialist. This type of test samples behavior under uniform
procedures.
2.No-Standardize Test - it is one prepared by teachers for use in the classroom, with no established norms for
scoring and interpretation of results. It is constructed by a classroom teacher to meet a particular need.
E. According to mode of interpreting Results
1.Test that yield norm referenced intepretations
- a test that evaluates a student's performance by comparing it to the performance of a group of students on the
same test
2.Test that allow critation reference interpretation
- it is test that measures a student's performance against an agreed upon or pre-established level of performance.
F. According to Nature of Answer
1.Personality Test - a test designed for assessing some aspects of an individual's personality.
2.Achievement Test - a test that measures the mental ability of an individual.
3.Intellegence Test - measure people's cognitive functioning, including (but not limited to) verbal, mathematical, and
visuospatial reasoning, memory, attention, and language comprehension and production.
4.Sociomatic Test - a test is used in discovering the learner's likes and dislikes, preferences, and their social
acceptance, as well as social relationships existing in a group.
5.Trade or Vocational Test a test designed to measure an individual's skill or competence in an occupation or
vocation.
3. Discuss the Relevance or importance of Assessment.

Stakeholders Importance
