significantly reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills and incinerators. By recycling,
we contribute to the creation of a sustainable environment that balances the needs of the
present and future. Despite its benefits, recycling faces several challenges. Contamination
of recyclable materials is a significant issue, as non-recyclable items can spoil entire
batches of recycling. Additionally, the economic feasibility of recycling certain materials,
especially when market prices for these materials are low, can be a challenge. Public
awareness and participation also vary greatly, affecting the efficiency and effectiveness
of recycling programs.

III. OBJECTIVES
1. Environmental Impact: One of the primary objectives of using recycled materials
for wall decor and pencil organizers is to reduce environmental impact. By
repurposing materials that would otherwise end up in landfills, it helps decrease
the demand for new resources and minimizes waste.
2. Versatility of Recycled Materials: Recycled materials come in various forms,
including reclaimed wood, metal scraps, glass bottles, plastic containers, and paper
products. These materials offer versatility in design and can be creatively
repurposed to create unique wall decor and organizers.
3. Aesthetic Appeal: Despite being made from recycled materials, wall decor and
pencil organizers can still be aesthetically pleasing. Designers often incorporate
artistic elements and innovative techniques to enhance the visual appeal of these
products, making them attractive additions to any space.
PROCEDURES
PENCIL ORGANIZER
1. Prepare the Tissue Paper Rolls: Cut the tissue paper roll into different sizes
depending on your preference. Make sure none is taller than the pencils or pens
you plan to store.
2. Prepare the Cardboard: Trace the circumference of your tissue paper roll onto the
cardboard. Cut out the traced circles. These will serve as the bottom of your pencil
holders.
4|Page
3. Attach the Cardboard Bottoms: Apply glue to the edges of one side of each tissue
paper roll and attach the cardboard circles. Let them dry.
4. Decorate with the Abaca Mat: Cut the abaca mat into strips that can wrap around
your tissue paper rolls. Apply glue to the outside of the tissue paper rolls and wrap
the abaca mat strips around them. Let it dry.
5. Assemble the Organizer: Once everything is dry, you can glue the tissue paper
rolls together in any configuration you like to create your pencil organizer. Let it
dry.

2. Prepare the Spoons: If desired, paint or finish the spoons before assembling the
vase. Allow them to dry completely before proceeding.
3. Arrange the Spoons: Arrange the spoons around the base in the desired pattern.
You can overlap them slightly to create a layered effect or arrange them in a
uniform pattern for a sleek look.
4. Glue the Spoons: Apply a small amount of adhesive to the back of each spoon and
press it firmly onto the base. Make sure to hold each spoon in place for a few
seconds to ensure a strong bond. Continue this process until all the spoons are
attached to the base.
5. Add Decorative Elements: If you're incorporating additional decorations like
beads or gems, glue them onto the spoons or base as desired.
6. Let It Dry: Allow the adhesive to dry completely according to the manufacturer's
instructions. This may take several hours or overnight, depending on the type of
adhesive used.
7. Final Touches: Once the adhesive is fully dry, inspect the vase for any loose or
uneven spoons. Secure any loose spoons with additional adhesive if necessary, and
make any final adjustments to ensure the vase looks just right.

Wall decor is a critical element in any home decor plan. It
not only defines the creativity and the taste of the
homeowners but also adds to the aesthetic appeal of the
house. There are various types of wall decor, such as wall
art, wall murals, wallpapers, wall painting, and so on.
When it comes to using Tansan or bottle caps for wall
decor, it's an excellent way to recycle and create unique,
custom pieces. Bottle caps can be painted, arranged, and
glued together to form various designs and patterns. They
can be used to create a mosaic or a colorful collage on the
wall. It's important to remember that while using Tansan
for wall decor is a fun and creative idea, it should be done
in a way that is safe. Bottle caps have sharp edges and
should be handled with care. It's also important to ensure
that they are securely attached to the wall to prevent them
from falling and causing injury. Using Tansan for wall
decor is an innovative and eco-friendly way to add a
personal touch to your home decor. It's a project that can
involve the whole family and result in a unique piece of art
that can be enjoyed for years to come.

IX. LEEARNING INSIGHTS
Working with recycled materials often sparks creativity as you find new ways to
repurpose items and give them new life as wall decor. Making wall decor from recycled
materials can be a fun do-it-yourself (DIY) project, allowing you to express your
personality and style while also honing your crafting skills. Studying recycled materials
provides insights into sustainability, resource conservation, waste reduction, and circular
economy principles. It highlights the importance of reducing consumption, reusing
materials, and recycling to minimize environmental impact. Additionally, analyzing
recycled materials can lead to innovations in recycling processes, material engineering,
and product design, fostering a more sustainable future. Using recycled materials can
unleash boundless creativity. Not only does it contribute to sustainability by reducing
waste, but it also challenges us to see potential in items others might discard. Through
repurposing materials, we learn to innovate, problem-solve, and create unique and
meaningful works of art or practical items. This process teaches us resourcefulness and
expands our imagination, showing that with a little ingenuity, even the most mundane
objects can be transformed into something beautiful or useful.

Each material carries its own history and story, which can add depth and meaning to the
artwork. It has taught me
to consider the symbolism behind the materials we use and how they can evoke emotions
and provoke thought in the viewer. Sharing our process and artworks has allowed me to
connect with like-minded individuals and contribute to a larger movement towards
environmental consciousness. It has been a transformative journey that has enriched my
artistic practice and contributed to a more sustainable and conscious approach to art-
making.

A spoon vase is a type of decorative vase made by arranging spoons in a circular
or spiral pattern around a central axis, typically a glass or ceramic vessel. Creating a
spoon
vase involves both artistic design and practical considerations, such as the size and shape
of the spoons used, the arrangement pattern, and the choice of base vessel. It offers
insights into creative repurposing of everyday objects, attention to detail in design, and
the fusion of functionality with aesthetics. Repurposing a spoon into a vase involves
creativity and sustainability. It highlights the potential of everyday objects beyond their
original purpose, fostering a mindset of resourcefulness and eco-consciousness. This
process also encourages innovation, as individuals experiment with unconventional
materials and techniques to transform ordinary items into functional art pieces, engaging
in such DIY projects promotes hands-on learning and personal expression, enriching
one's understanding of design, aesthetics, and environmental stewardship.
