ACTIVITY STEPS
1. The teacher gathers the children and introduces our solar system to the children, using the
pictures of the solar system as visual aids and says:
"Hello, children! Have you ever looked up at the sky at night and wondered what all those
twinkling lights are? Well, some of those lights are actually huge, gigantic balls of gas and rock
that we call planets. Planets are just one part of something even bigger called the solar
system. The solar system is like a big family of planets, stars, moons, and other objects that all
spin and move around together. Today, we're going to learn more about our solar system and
the amazing things that make it so special."
2. The teacher continues by using the stick planets. The teacher shows each planet and talks
about their names, colours and shapes. Then the teacher can tell the planets story using the
stick planets(printable).
3. Then, the teacher invites the children to gather around the sensory bin and
4. The children play and explore the sensory bin filled with black beans, stars and planets.
