A fact is a statement that can be verified. It can be proven to be true or false through
objective evidence.

Objective proof can be one or more of the following: physical evidence, an

eyewitness account, or the result of an accepted scientific method.

A fact is, simply, something that can be proven true or false.

Examples:

As you can see, it has two wheels.

Ma’am Jessa C. Marquez is the new School Head of Estanislao Perlas NHS.
It is true, as we all know Ma’am Marciana Z. Ramento was the former Officer-In-
Charge of EPNHS.

Busay Falls is located at Brgy. Tagabas Ibaba Catanauan, Quezon.

A paragraph consists of a group of sentences that revolve around a central

idea.
This statement provides a clear definition of a paragraph's structure, which can be
objectively confirmed through academic sources and writing conventions.

 Based on the given graph, which school year has the lowest and highest
number of enrolments?
 From the school year 2020 up to present, how many students have been
raised to school year 2022?
 If you were to analyze the data in the graph, do you think the enrollees from
2020 up to present are ascending or fluctuating?
 Do you think the graph contains fact or opinion? Why?

An opinion is someone’s judgement or feeling and cannot be proven.

Examples:

"Pizzaveria’s pizza is the best in town of Catanauan."

This statement is an opinion as it is based on personal preference. Food preference
varies greatly among individuals, making it subjective.

Mathematics is the most useful subject for everyday life.

This is an opinion. Others might say that it is useful others may not.

"Climate change is not primarily caused by human activities."

This statement represents the viewpoint of some individuals who are skeptical of the
human impact on climate change. While natural factors such as volcanic eruptions
and variations in solar radiation play a role in climate patterns, most climate scientists
agree that human activities, particularly the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation,
are the primary drivers of current global warming trends.

The teacher groups the students into two (2) provided a statement of fact and
opinion, and each group will determine whether it is a fact or opinion, and they
will explain it further.

Baking cookies takes less than an hour. First, you need to add 2 cups flour, ½ cup

mixing bowl. Next you stir the ingredients together until they are completely
combined. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Put a spoonful of cookie batter
an inch apart onto greased cookie sheets. Bake for about 10 minutes or until the
cookies are light brown at the edges.
Case # 2:

My mom’s cookies are the best in town! First, she uses the creamiest butter, and she
gets the freshest eggs from our neighbor’s chickens. The milk she buys to drink while
eating the cookies makes the cookies even better because the milk come from a
local dairy farm. They’re good when they’re cooled down, but even better when
they’re still warm.
