1. Basic Function
Directs and supervises the activities of assigned personnel in carrying out routine
maintenance work at the Compressor station. Supervises work to ensure proper completion
to required engineering, safety and loss control standards and established programmes.
Organises inspection of various equipment according to international codes and maintains

1. Basic Function
Plans, directs and supervises the activities of assigned personnel engaged in mechanical
engineering maintenance and repair at the Compressor Stations, Pipeline network and the
metering and Regulating Stations, ensuring execution of such work to required standards.
Provides mechanical and civil engineering expertise and advice to the Department.
Establishes equipment inspection methods and frequencies according to accepted codes,
and ensures timely execution. Develops and maintains mechanical engineering procedures.
Established forward control point in the event of an emergency along the pipeline. Executes

operation of the main Compressor Station and gas distribution network, ensuring the safe
operation and reliable supply of gas under economic conditions. Liaises with gas supplier
and customers regarding gas availability, quality and quantity. Oversees billing procedures
and negotiates with customers to resolve disputes. Prepares sales and budget
forecasts. Acts as Incident Controller in the event of any emergency at the station and
directs and controls all activities.

of mechanical, electrical, instrument and electronic equipment and ensures that such
activities are executed to established engineering, safety and control standards.
Discusses with consultants major projects and drafts related contracts. Prepares and submits
