Brendan Fraser

1. Life facts and career


 Brendan Fraser is a Canadian-American actor. He was born on the 3rd of December
in 1968 in Indianapolis.
 He was the fourth born in the family and has 3 borthers. His family moved often
during his childhood so he had to change school many times and he struggled with
integration problems.
 When the family were on vacation is London, England, Brendan attended his first
professional theatre show, which began his interest in acting.
 His first ever role was a small one as a seaman in Dogfight in 1991.
 He played some other small roles and he made a film, Airheads with Steve Buscemi
and Adam Sandler in 1994.
 He had his first major box office success with the 1997’s comedy film George of the
Jungle.
 He recieved critical acclaim for his dramatic role in Gods and Monsters, which was
based on the life of James Whale.
 Fraser achieved his biggest commercial success when he played the main character,
Rick O’Connell in the fantasy adventure film The Mummy in 1999 with Rachel
Weisz, who is of Hungarian origin, and the film The Mummy Returns in 2001 with
Dwayne Johnson, moreover later The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.
 In 2008 he starred in the film Inkheart, which is based on a fantasy book and he was
chosen personally for the lead role by the novel’s author, who was inspired by
Brendan whe she created the character.
 He had many more great movies.

2. Personality/personal life
 After 2010, Brendan’s career started to go down.
 Some dangerous moves he made in his films took a toll on his body and the
surgeries and the recovery held him back from acting.
 He went through a rough divorce in the end of the 2000s. He has 3 children with
Afton Smith and they had been married for 9 years.
 During this time he also lost his mother.
 He almost disappaered from the movie screens. He had small roles and he wasn’t
that popular anymore because of his appearance which changed due to his life
tragedies.
 In my opinion he is kid soul who doesn’t deserve any hate but happiness.
 He has supported many charities and foundations and took parts of fundraising
evenings.
 His comedy movies made a lot of people laugh and a smile on theeie faces, he
should be as happy as we were when we watched his films.

3. Why I admire this person


 He has been through a lot. He had his ups and downs. But he never gave up,
however he has thought about that sometime.
 After many years he made has comeback in 2023 with the film The Whale. He
played the role of the main character, Charlie and he won the Oscar award for the
best male main character and other awards too for this role.
 He also got 6 minutes ovation at the Venice film festival in 2022 after The Whale’s
premiere.
 And all he got 80 nominations and 31 wins of that since he started acting.
 Personally, I’ve always loved his movies and one of my all time favourite films is
Inkheart, it’s such a great one, you should watch it!
 He’s a living legend.
