NARRATIVE REPORT
RE: JOINT BSP-GSP ENCAMMENT 2024

In pursuant to DepEd Order No. 49, s. 2017 and DepEd Order No. 76, s. 2012 which
encourages school-based scouting for reinforcement of teaching Values Formation, Character
Development, Leadership and Citizenship Training for all Learners. Dumalneg National High
School conducted a 1 ½ day BSP-GSP Encampment on March 15-16, 2024.

The adventures within the 1 ½ day encampment brought together scouts from the Boy
Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) and the Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) for a series of
meaningful activities aimed at fostering camaraderie, leadership, and service.

The Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) and Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) camp
held inside our school premises was a truly enriching and memorable experience for all
participants, titos and titas. The camp aimed to instill the values of leadership, teamwork, and
community service among the scouts, while also providing fun and engaging activities such as
the obstacle course and team building activity for learning and personal growth. Additionally, it
promotes social interaction and the development of lifelong friendships.

The encampment commenced with the registration of scouts, where participants signed in
and prepared for the upcoming activities. Following this, scouts learned the essential skill of
tent pitching in their designated areas, ensuring they were equipped for the overnight stay.

The camp kicked off with an opening ceremony that included the raising of the flags,
singing the Makabayan song, the SDOIN hymn, and a motivational speech by the camp
director. Before the opening program, scouts were divided into groups (BSP and GSP). Each
group conducted the standard procedure during the investiture for new members and

rededication of the scouts. Scouts pledged their allegiance to the scout oath and law,
embodying the principles of integrity, duty, and service.

The highlights of the camp were the campfire night, Search for Mr. and Ms. BSP-GSP
Eco-saver 2024, and socialization where scouts were gathered around a bonfire to showcase
their original cheers and yells, sing songs, and show their prowess in dancing. The sense of
camaraderie and unity among the participants was truly heartwarming, as they bonded over
shared experiences and worked together to overcome challenges and create the recycled
costumes of their candidates.

Throughout the camp, scouts had the opportunity to participate in team-building

exercises that encouraged cooperation and communication. They attended educational
sessions on topics like first aid training, and fire drill training led by the Bureau of Fire
Protection.

Scouts also took part in the conservation and maintenance of cleanliness and
orderliness in the community through conducting tree planting and clean-up drives that surely
provided them with personal and social development, which aimed to broaden their knowledge
and skills with the participation of the Philippine National Police.

In the afternoon, scouts embraced the spirit of challenge and adventure with an
exhilarating obstacle course. From rope challenges to mud crawl, they pushed themselves to
their limits, fostering teamwork and resilience along the way. With each obstacle conquered,
they demonstrated their strength, determination, and the indomitable spirit of scouting.
Teachers/Titas were also assigned to every station to facilitate the activity and ensure the
safety of every camper.
Despite facing some logistical constraints due to the limited space within the school
premises, the camp organizers were able to create a safe and engaging environment for all
participants. The dedication and hard work of the scout leaders, teachers, and volunteers such

as the PNP, BFP, BHW, and Tanods were evident throughout the camp, ensuring that all
activities ran smoothly and that the scouts had a positive, safe, and rewarding experience.

As the camp ended, participants reflected on the lessons learned, friendships formed,
and memories created during their time together. In the closing program, some scouts gave
their insights and reflections. Awards were presented to commend outstanding achievements,
but the true reward lay in the friendships forged and the bonds of camaraderie that united them
as scouts.
The BSP and GSP camp inside the school was not just a gathering of scouts, but a
celebration of the values and principles that guide the scouting movement. It was a testament
to the power of community, teamwork, and service, and a reminder of the impact that young
people can have when they come together with a shared purpose.

With hearts full and spirits lifted, scouts bid farewell to the encampment, carrying with
them the cherished memories and invaluable experiences that would shape their journey
ahead.
