(a) whether the Ministry would like to share the details of number of ports operated and run by
Government and on Public Private Partnership(PPP) mode in the country and the names of private
companies in case ofPPP;
(b) the details of revenue generated by private companies, share ol State/Central Govemment in the
revenue from the time of concession period initiation till date also the details on end of concession
period; and
(c) the details ofcapacity ofall the PPP ports and traific handled from 2018 to till date, Port-wise?
ANSWER
(a) There are 12 Major Ports wholly owned by the Central Govemment. There are 213 non-major
ports managed by and under the control of respective State Maritime Board/State Govemment. In case
of Major Ports, out of 272 berths, 79 berths are being operated on PPP mode. Details of the private
operators are enclosed at Annexure-I.
(b) As per the Concession Agreement arrived at between the Major Port and the Concessionaire,
the revenue is shared by the Concessionaire with the Major Port on the conditions agreed in the
Concession Agreement.
(c) The details of the Major Ports capacity and traffic handled (including PPP Berths/Terminals)
from FY 2018- 19 up to FY 2021-22 (Port-wise) are at Annexure-Il.
