DHIKR

‫اَل ٰله اَّل هّٰللا‬

ُ ‫ِإ َ ِإ‬
Lā ilāha illā-Allāh

Tahlil: the best dhikr

There is no god but Allah.

[4 times]

‫ هّٰللَا ُ َأ ْك َبر‬، ِ ‫ اَ ْل َحمْ ُد هّٰلِل‬، ِ ‫ان هّٰللا‬

َ ‫ُسب َْح‬
Subḥāna-llāh. Alḥamdu li-llāh, Allāhu akbar.

Tasbih (Subhana-llah), Tahmid (Alhamdu li-llah), Takbir (Allahu akbar)

Allah is free from imperfection. All praise be to Allah. Allah is the Greatest.

[33+33+34 times]

Surah Ikhlas, Surah Falaq, Surah Naas

[3 times each]
 ‫هّٰلل‬
ِ ‫اَل َح ْو َل َواَل قُوَّ َة ِإاَّل ِبا‬
Lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā bi-llāh

Hawqalah: a treasure from the treasures of paradise

There is no power (in averting evil) or strength (in attaining good) except
through Allah

[3 times]

‫ك َو َل ُه ْال َحمْ ُد َوه َُو َع َل ٰى ُك ِّل َشيْ ٍء َق ِد ْي ٌر‬ َ ‫اَل ِإ ٰل َه ِإاَّل هللاُ َوحْ دَ هُ اَل َش ِري‬
ُ ‫ َل ُه ْالم ُْل‬، ‫ْك َل ُه‬

Lā ilāha illā-Allāh, waḥdahū lā sharīka lah, lahu-l-mulk, wa

lahu-l-ḥamd, wa Huwa ʿalā kulli shay’in Qadīr.

The best statement uttered by the Prophets

There is no god but Allah. He is Alone and He has no partner whatsoever.

To Him Alone belong all sovereignty and all praise. He is over all things
All-Powerful.

‫ َوهللاُ َأ ْك َب ُر‬، ُ‫ َو ْال َحمْ ُد هلِل ِ َواَل ِإ ٰل َه ِإاَّل هللا‬، ‫هللا‬

ِ ‫ان‬ َ ‫ ُسب َْح‬.
Subḥāna-llāh. wal-lḥamdu li-llāh, wa lā ilāha illa-llāhu wa-llāhu akbar.

The best words after the Qur’an

Allah is free from imperfection. All praise be to Allah. There is no god

worthy of worship but Allah. Allah is the Greatest.
‫هللا ْال َعظِ يْم‬
ِ ‫ان‬ َ ‫ ُسب َْح‬، ‫هللا َو ِب َحمْ ِد ِه‬
ِ ‫ان‬ َ ‫ُسب َْح‬
Subḥāna-llāhi wa bi-ḥamdihī, subḥāna-llāhi-l-aẓīm.

Light on the tongue but heavy on the scales & beloved to Allah

Allah is free from imperfection and all praise is due to Him, Allah is free
from imperfection, the Greatest.

[100 times- forgiveness for all sins even if they were as much as the foam
of the sea]

Surah Fatiha

[4 times]

Ayat al-Kursi

One who recites this after the conclusion of one fardh prayer will be in the
care of Allah until the next prayer

[after every fardh]

Last 2 verses of Surah Baqarah

It was given to me from the treasure that lies under Allah’s throne

[at night]
HAMD

‫هّٰللا‬
ِ ْ‫ِبسْ ِم ِ الَّ ِذيْ اَل َيضُرُّ َم َع اسْ ِم ِه َشيْ ٌء فِي اَأْلر‬
‫ َوه َُو ال َّس ِم ْي ُع‬، ‫ض َواَل فِي ال َّس َما ِء‬
ْ
‫ال َعلِ ْي ُم‬.

Bismi-llāhi-lladhī lā yaḍurru maʿasmihi shay’un fi-l-arḍi wa lā

fi-s-samā’, wa Huwa-s-Samīʿu-l-ʿAlīm.

There is no servant that says the above except that nothing will harm him

In the Name of Allah, with whose Name nothing can harm in the earth nor
in the sky. He is The All-Hearing and All-Knowing.

[3 times]

‫ َومِـدادَ َكلِمـاتِـه‬، ‫ َو ِز َنـ َة َعـرْ شِ ـه‬، ‫ َو ِرضـا َن ْفسِ ـه‬، ‫هللا َو ِب َحمْ ـ ِد ِه َعدَ دَ َخ ْلـقِه‬ َ ‫ُسب‬
ِ ‫ْحـان‬

Subhâna l-lâhi wa bi-hamdihi, adada khaqihi, wa ridâ nafsihi, wa

zinata arshihi, wa midâda kalimâtihi

Will outweigh any dhikr done from morning to noon

How perfect Allah is and I praise Him by the number of His creation and His
pleasure, and by the weight of His throne, and the ink of His words.

‫ َف َل َك‬، ‫ْك َل َك‬ َ ‫اَل ٰلّ ُه َّم َما َأصْ َب َح ِبيْ ِمنْ ِّنعْ َم ٍة َأ ْو ِبَأ َح ٍد مِّنْ َخ ْلق‬
َ ‫ َف ِم ْن َك َوحْ دَ َك اَل َش ِري‬، ‫ِك‬
‫ ْال َحمْ ُد َو َل َك ال ُّش ْك ُر‬.
Allāhumma mā aṣbaḥa bī min niʿmatin aw bi-aḥadim-min khalqik,
fa-minka waḥdaka lā sharīka lak, fa laka-l-ḥamdu wa laka-sh-shukr.

Whoever says this morning and evening has fulfilled his obligation to thank
Allah in the day and night

O Allah, all the favours that I or anyone from Your creation has received in
the morning, are from You Alone. You have no partner. To You Alone
belong all praise and all thanks.

ُ ‫ َع َل ْي ِه َت َو َّك ْل‬، ‫ َحسْ ِب َي هّٰللا ُ اَل ِإ ٰل َه ِإاَّل ه َُو‬.

ِ ْ‫ َوه َُو َربُّ ْال َعر‬، ‫ت‬
‫ش ْال َعظِ ي ِْم‬

Ḥasbiya-Allāhu lā ilāha illā Huwa, ʿalayhi tawakkaltu, wa Huwa

Rabbu-l-ʿArshi-l-ʿaẓīm.

Whoever recites this morning and evening, Allah will suffice him in all his
matters of this world and the next

Allah is sufficient for me. There is no god worthy of worship except Him. I
have placed my trust in Him only and He is the Lord of the Magnificent
Throne.

[7 times]

‫ َو ِبم َُح َّم ٍد َّن ِب ًّيا‬، ‫ َو ِباِإْلسْ اَل ِم ِد ْي ًنا‬، ‫ْت ِباهّٰلل ِ َر ًّبا‬
ُ ‫ َرضِ ي‬.

Raḍītu bi-llāhi Rabbā, wa bi-l-islāmi dīnā, wa bi Muḥammadin-Nabiyyā.

Allah has promised that the reciter of this will be pleased on the Day of
Judgement. The Messenger of Allah ‫ ﷺ‬said: “Whoever says [the above]
in the morning, I guarantee that I will take hold of his hand until I enter him
into Paradise.”

I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, with Islam as my religion and with

Muḥammad ‫ ﷺ‬as my Prophet.

، ‫ َربَّ ُك ِّل َشيْ ٍء وَّ َملِ ْي َك ُه‬، ‫ب َوال َّش َهادَ ِة‬ ِ ‫ َعالِ َم ْال َغ ْي‬، ‫ض‬ ِ ‫اَل ٰلّ ُه َّم َفاطِ َر الس َّٰم َوا‬
ِ ْ‫ت َواَأْلر‬
ْ‫ َوَأن‬، ‫ان َوشِ رْ ِك ِه‬ ِ ‫ْط‬ َ ‫ َو ِمنْ َشرِّ ال َّشي‬، ْ‫ َأع ُْو ُذ ِب َك ِمنْ َشرِّ َن ْفسِ ي‬، ‫ت‬َ ‫َأ ْش َه ُد َأنْ اَّل ِإ ٰل َه ِإاَّل َأ ْن‬
‫ف َع َل ٰى َن ْفسِ يْ س ُْوءًا َأ ْو َأجُرَّ هُ ِإ َل ٰى مُسْ ل ٍِم‬
َ ‫َأ ْق َت ِر‬.

Allāhumma fāṭir-as-samāwāti wa-l-arḍi,ʿālima-l-ghaybi

wa-sh-shahādah, rabba kulli shay’iw-wa malīkah, ash-hadu al-lā ilāha
illā Anta, aʿūdhu bika min sharri nafsī wa min sharri-sh-shayṭāni wa
shirkihī wa an aqtarifa ʿalā nafsī sū’an aw ajurrahū ilā muslim.

O Allah, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and
the seen, the Lord and Sovereign of everything; I bear witness that there is
no god worthy of worship but You. I seek Your protection from the evil of my
own self, from the evil of Shayṭān and from the evil of polytheism to which
he calls, and from inflicting evil on myself, or bringing it upon a Muslim.

، ‫ َر َّب َنا َو َربَّ ُك ِّل َشيْ ٍء‬، ‫ش ْال َعظِ ي ِْم‬ ِ ْ‫ض َو َربَّ ْال َعر‬ ِ ْ‫ت َو َربَّ اَألر‬ ِ ‫اَل ٰلّ ُه َّم َربَّ الس َّٰم َوا‬
‫ َأع ُْو ُذ ِب َك ِمنْ َشرِّ ُك ِّل َشيْ ٍء‬، ‫ان‬ ِ ‫ َو ُم ْن ِز َل ال َّت ْو َرا ِة َواِإْل ْن ِجي ِْل َو ْالفُرْ َق‬، ‫َفال َِق ْال َحبِّ َوال َّن َو ٰى‬
‫ْس َبعْ دَ َك‬ َ ‫ت اآْل ِخ ُر َف َلي‬ َ ‫ َوَأ ْن‬، ‫ْس َق ْب َل َك َشيْ ٌء‬ َ ‫ت اَأْلوَّ ُل َف َلي‬ َ ‫ اَل ٰلّ ُه َّم َأ ْن‬، ‫ت آخ ٌِذ ِب َناصِ َي ِت ِه‬ َ ‫َأ ْن‬
‫ض َع َّنا‬ ِ ‫ ِا ْق‬، ‫ْس ُد ْو َن َك َشيْ ٌء‬ َ ‫ت ْالبَاطِ نُ َف َلي‬ َ ‫ َوَأ ْن‬، ‫ْس َف ْو َق َك َشيْ ٌء‬ َّ ‫ت‬
َ ‫الظا ِه ُر َف َلي‬ َ ‫ َوَأ ْن‬، ‫َشيْ ٌء‬
‫ال َّدي َْن َوَأ ْغ ِن َنا م َِن ْال َف ْق ِر‬.
Allāhumma Rabb-as-samāwāti wa Rabba-l-arḍi wa
Rabba-l-ʿArshi-l-ʿaẓīm, Rabbanā wa Rabba kulli shay’, fāliqa-l-ḥabbi
wa-n-nawā, wa munzila-t-tawrāti wa-l-injīli wa-l-furqān, aʿūdhu bika
min sharri kulli shay’in Anta ākhidhu-m-bi-nāṣiyatih, Allāhumma
Anta-l-Awwalu fa-laysa qablaka shay’, wa Anta-l-Ākhiru fa-laysa
baʿdaka shay’, wa Anta-ẓ- Ẓāhiru fa-laysa fawqaka shay’, wa
Anta-l-Bāṭinu fa-laysa dūnaka shay’, iqḍi ʿanna-d-dayna wa aghninā
mina-l-faqr.

O Allah, Lord of the heavens, Lord of the earth and Lord of the Magnificent
Throne, our Lord and Lord of all things, Splitter of the seed and the date
stone, Revealer of the Torah, the Injīl and the Criterion (Qur’ān); I seek
Your protection from the evil of every thing You hold by the forehead. You
are the First and there is nothing before You. You are the Last and there is
nothing after You. You are the Most High and there is nothing above You.
You are the Most Near and nothing is closer than You — settle our debts for
us and spare us from poverty.

َّ‫ اَ ْل َحمْ ُد هّٰلِل ِ الَّ ِذيْ َمن‬، ْ‫ اَ ْل َحمْ ُد هّٰلِل ِ الَّ ِذيْ َأ ْط َع َم ِنيْ َو َس َقا ِني‬، ْ‫اَ ْل َحمْ ُد هّٰلِل ِ الَّ ِذيْ َك َفا ِنيْ َو َآوا ِني‬
‫ اَل ٰلّ ُه َّم ِإ ِّنيْ َأسْ َألُ َك ِبع َِّزت َ َأ‬، ‫ض َل‬َ ‫ َع َليَّ َفَأ ْف‬.
‫ار‬ِ ‫ِك نْ ُت َنجِّ َي ِنيْ م َِن ال َّن‬
Al-ḥamdu li-llāhi-lladhī kafānī wa āwānī, al-ḥamdu li-llāhi-lladhī
aṭʿamanī wa saqānī, al-ḥamdu li-llāhi-l-ladhī manna ʿalayya fa-afḍal,
allāhumma innī as’aluka bi ʿizzatika an tunajjiyanī min-an-nār.

Whoever says this has praised Allah with the praise of the entire creation

All praise is for Allah who has sufficed me and given me shelter. All praise
is for Allah who has fed me and given me drink. All praise is for Allah who
has been gracious to me and showered favours on me. O Allah, I ask You
by Your Glory, save me from the Hell-Fire.
‫ت‬ ُ ْ‫ َوَأ ْل َجا‬، ‫ْك‬ َ ‫ْت َوجْ ِهيْ ِإ َلي‬ ُ ‫ َو َوجَّ ه‬، ‫ْك‬ َ ‫ت َأمْ ِريْ ِإ َلي‬
ُ ْ‫ َو َفوَّ ض‬، ‫ْك‬ ُ ْ‫اَل ٰلّ ُه َّم َأسْ َلم‬
َ ‫ت َن ْفسِ يْ ِإ َلي‬
‫ت ِب ِك َت ِاب َك‬ُ ‫ آ َم ْن‬، ‫ْك‬ َ ‫ اَل َم ْل َجَأ َواَل َم ْن َجا ِم ْن َك ِإاَّل ِإ َلي‬، ‫ْك‬
َ ‫ َر ْغ َب ًة َو َرهْ َب ًة ِإ َلي‬، ‫ْك‬ َ ‫َظه ِْريْ ِإ َلي‬
‫ت‬ َ ‫ِّك الَّ ِذيْ َأرْ َس ْل‬ َ ‫الَّ ِذيْ َأ ْن َز ْل‬.
َ ‫ت َو ِب َن ِبي‬

Allāhumma aslamtu nafsī ilayk, wa fawwaḍtu amrī ilayk, wa wajjahtu

wajhī ilayk, wa alja’tu ẓahrī ilayk, raghbataw-wa rahbatan ilayk, lā
malja’a wa lā manjā minka illā ilayk, āmantu bi kitābika-l-ladhī anzalt,
wa bi Nabiyyika-lladhī arsalt.

Say the above when retiring to bed and if you die, you die upon the Fitrah

O Allah, I submit my soul unto You, I entrust my affair unto You, I turn my
face towards You, and I totally rely on You — in hope and fear of You.
Indeed, there is no refuge or safe haven from You except with You. I
believe in Your Book which You have revealed and in Your Prophet whom
You have sent.
SALAWAT

Main Salawat

، ‫آل ِإب َْرا ِه ْي َم‬ َ ‫صلَّي‬

ِ ‫ْت َع َل ٰى ِإب َْرا ِه ْي َم َو َع َل ٰى‬ َ ‫ َك َما‬، ‫آل م َُح َّم ٍد‬ ِ ‫ص ِّل َع َل ٰى م َُح َّم ٍد َو َع َل ٰى‬ َ ‫اَل ٰلّ ُه َّم‬
ٰ
‫ت َع َل ٰى ِإب َْرا ِه ْي َم‬ َ ‫ار ْك‬َ ‫ َك َما َب‬، ‫آل م َُح َّم ٍد‬ ِ ‫ اَللّ ُه َّم َب‬، ‫ِإ َّن َك َح ِم ْي ٌد َّم ِج ْي ٌد‬
ِ ‫اركْ َع َل ٰى م َُح َّم ٍد َو َع َل ٰى‬
ِ ‫َو َع َل ٰى‬
‫ ِإ َّن َك َح ِم ْي ٌد َّم ِج ْي ٌد‬، ‫آل ِإب َْرا ِه ْي َم‬

Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammad wa ʿalā āli Muḥammad, kamā ṣallayta

ʿalā Ibrāhīma wa ʿalā āli Ibrāhīm, innaka Ḥamīdu-m-Majīd, Allāhumma
bārik ʿalā Muḥammad, wa ʿalā āli Muḥammad, kamā bārakta ʿalā
Ibrāhīma wa ʿalā āli Ibrāhīm, innaka Ḥamīdu-m-Majīd.

O Allah, honor and have mercy upon Muhammad and the family of
Muhammad as You have honored and had mercy upon Ibrāhīm and the
family of Ibrāhīm. Indeed, You are the Most Praiseworthy, the Most
Glorious. O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You
have blessed Ibrāhīm and the family of Ibrāhīm. Indeed, You are the Most
Praiseworthy, the Most Glorious.
DUA

‫َيا َذا ْال َجاَل ِل َواِإْل ْك َرام‬

Yā Dha-l-Jalāli wa-l-Ikrām

To supplicate frequently with

O The Lord of Majesty & Honour

ُ ‫ِك َأسْ َت ِغي‬

‫ْث‬ َ ‫ ِب َرحْ َمت‬، ‫َيا َحيُّ َيا َقي ُّْو ُم‬
Yā Ḥayyu yā Qayyūm, bi-raḥmatika astaghīth.

To supplicate with when in distress

O The Ever Living, The One Who sustains and protects all that exists; I
seek assistance through Your Mercy.

ّ ٰ ‫ت م َِن‬
‫الظلِ ِمي َْن‬ َ ‫آَل ِإ ٰل َه ِإآَّل َأ ْن‬
ُ ‫ت ُسب ْٰح َن َك ِإ ِّنيْ ُك ْن‬

Lā ilāha illā Anta subḥānaka innī kuntu mina-ẓ-ẓālimīn.

No believer supplicates with this except that his supplication is answered

There is no god worthy of worship except You; You are free from all
imperfection. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.
‫ َوَأ ُت ْوبُ ِإ َل ْي ِه‬، ‫هللا ْال َعظِ ْي َم الَّ ِذيْ اَل ِإ ٰل َه ِإاَّل ه َُو ْال َحيُّ ْال َقي ُّْو ُم‬
َ ‫َأسْ َت ْغ ِف ُر‬
Astaghfiru-l-llāha-l-aẓīm al-ladhī lā ilāha illā Huwa-l-Ḥayyu-l-Qayyūm,
wa atūbu ilayh.

Forgiveness for all sins, even as big as fleeing from battle

I seek forgiveness from Allah, the Greatest, whom there is none worthy of
worship except Him, The Ever Living, The One Who sustains and protects
all that exists, I turn in repentance towards you.

ِ ْ‫هللا الَّذِي اَل َيضُرُّ َم َع اسْ ِم ِه َشيْ ٌء فِي اَأْلر‬

‫ض َواَل فِي ال َّس َما ِء َوه َُو ال َّسمِي ُع ْال َعلِي ُم‬ ِ ‫ِبسْ ِم‬
Bismillahilladhi la yadurru ma‘a ismihi shay-un fi’l-ardi wa la fi’l-samai
wa huwa as-sami‘ ul-‘alim

Nothing will harm those who recite this morning & evening

In the name of Allah with Whose name nothing can harm on Earth or in
Heaven, and He is the All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

‫ َوَأع ُْو ُذ ِب َك م َِن‬،‫ َوَأع ُْو ُذ ِب َك م َِن ْال َعجْ ِز َو ْال َك َس ِل‬، ‫اَل ٰلّ ُه َّم ِإ ِّنيْ َأع ُْو ُذ ِب َك م َِن ْال َه ِّم َو ْال َح َز ِن‬
ِ ‫ْن َو َقه ِْر الرِّ َج‬
.‫ال‬ ِ ‫ َوَأع ُْو ُذ ِب َك ِمنْ َغ َل َب ِة ال َّدي‬، ‫ْن َو ْالب ُْخ ِل‬ِ ‫ْال ُجب‬
Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika min-l-hammi wa-l-ḥazan, wa aʿūdhu bika
min-l-ʿajzi wa-l-kasal, wa aʿūdhu bika min-l-jubni wa-l-bukhl, wa
aʿūdhu bika min ghalabati-d-dayni wa qahri-r-rijāl.

When you say them, Allah will remove your worries, and settle your debts
O Allah, I seek Your protection from anxiety and grief. I seek Your
protection from inability and laziness. I seek Your protection from cowardice
and miserliness, and I seek Your protection from being overcome by debt
and being overpowered by men.

ْ‫ اَل ٰلّ ُه َّم ِإ ِّنيْ َأسْ َألُ َك ْال َع ْف َو َو ْال َعا ِف َي َة ِفيْ ِد ْي ِني‬، ‫اَل ٰلّ ُه َّم ِإ ِّنيْ َأسْ َألُ َك ْال َعا ِف َي َة فِي ال ُّد ْن َيا َواآْل خ َِر ِة‬
ٰ ٰ
ِ ‫ اَللّ ُه َّم احْ َف ْظ ِنيْ ِمنْ َبي‬، ْ‫ اَللّ ُه َّم اسْ ُترْ َع ْو َرا ِتيْ َوآ ِمنْ َر ْو َعا ِتي‬، ْ‫اي َوَأهْ لِيْ َو َمالِي‬
‫ْن‬ َ ‫َو ُد ْن َي‬
َ ‫ َوَأع ُْو ُذ ِب َع َظ َمت‬، ْ‫ َو ِمنْ َف ْو ِقي‬، ْ‫ َو َعنْ شِ َمالِي‬، ْ‫ َو َعنْ َّي ِم ْي ِني‬، ْ‫ َو ِمنْ َخ ْل ِفي‬، َّ‫َيدَ ي‬
ْ‫ِك َأن‬
. ْ‫ُأ ْغ َتا َل ِمنْ َتحْ ِتي‬

Allāhumma innī as’aluka-l-ʿāfiyata fi-d-dunyā wa-l-ākhirah. Allāhumma

innī as’aluka-l-ʿafwa wa-l-ʿāfiyata fī dīnī wa dunyāya wa ahlī wa mālī,
Allāhumma-stur ʿawrātī wa āmin rawʿātī. Allāhumma-ḥfaẓnī mim bayni
yadayya wa min khalfī, wa ʿay-n yamīnī wa ʿan shimālī wa min fawqī,
wa aʿūdhu bi-ʿaẓamatika an ughtāla min taḥtī.

O Allah, I ask You for well-being in this world and the next. O Allah, I ask
You for forgiveness and well-being in my religion, in my worldly affairs, in
my family and in my wealth. O Allah, conceal my faults and calm my fears.
O Allah, guard me from in front of me and behind me, from my right, and
from my left, and from above me. I seek protection in Your Greatness from
being unexpectedly destroyed from beneath me.
 ، ‫ َربَّ ُك ِّل َشيْ ٍء وَّ َملِ ْي َك ُه‬، ‫ب َوال َّش َهادَ ِة‬ِ ‫ َعالِ َم ْال َغ ْي‬، ‫ض‬ ِ ْ‫ت َواَأْلر‬ ِ ‫اَل ٰلّ ُه َّم َفاطِ َر الس َّٰم َوا‬
ْ‫ َوَأن‬، ‫ان َوشِ رْ ِك ِه‬ َ ‫ َو ِمنْ َشرِّ ال َّشي‬، ْ‫ َأع ُْو ُذ ِب َك ِمنْ َشرِّ َن ْفسِ ي‬، ‫ت‬
ِ ‫ْط‬ َ ‫َأ ْش َه ُد َأنْ اَّل ِإ ٰل َه ِإاَّل َأ ْن‬
.‫ف َع َل ٰى َن ْفسِ يْ س ُْوءًا َأ ْو َأجُرَّ هُ ِإ َل ٰى مُسْ ل ٍِم‬ َ ‫َأ ْق َت ِر‬
Allāhumma fāṭir-as-samāwāti wa-l-arḍi,ʿālima-l-ghaybi
wa-sh-shahādah, rabba kulli shay’iw-wa malīkah, ash-hadu al-lā ilāha
illā Anta, aʿūdhu bika min sharri nafsī wa min sharri-sh-shayṭāni wa
shirkihī wa an aqtarifa ʿalā nafsī sū’an aw ajurrahū ilā muslim.

Say this morning and evening

O Allah, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and
the seen, the Lord and Sovereign of everything; I bear witness that there is
no god worthy of worship but You. I seek Your protection from the evil of my
own self, from the evil of Shayṭān and from the evil of polytheism to which
he calls, and from inflicting evil on myself, or bringing it upon a Muslim.

ْ‫ َواَل َتك ِْل ِنيْ ِإ َل ٰى َن ْفسِ ي‬، ‫ َأصْ لِحْ لِيْ َشْأ ِنيْ ُكلَّ ُه‬، ‫ْث‬
ُ ‫ِك َأسْ َت ِغي‬
َ ‫ ِب َرحْ َمت‬، ‫َيا َحيُّ َيا َقي ُّْو ُم‬
.‫ْن‬ ٍ ‫َطرْ َف َة َعي‬
Yā Ḥayyu yā Qayyūm, bi-raḥmatika astaghīth, aṣliḥ lī sha’nī kullah, wa
lā takilnī ilā nafsī ṭarfata ʿayn.

Say this morning and evening

O The Ever Living, The Sustainer of all. ; I seek assistance through Your
mercy. Rectify all of my affairs and do not entrust me to myself for the blink
of an eye.
 ‫ اَل ِإ ٰل َه ِإاَّل‬، ْ‫ص ِري‬ َ ‫ اَل ٰلّ ُه َّم َعا ِف ِنيْ ِفيْ َب‬، ْ‫ اَل ٰلّ ُه َّم َعا ِف ِنيْ ِفيْ َسمْ ِعي‬، ْ‫اَل ٰلّ ُه َّم َعا ِف ِنيْ ِفيْ َبدَ ِني‬
ِ ‫ وَأع ُْو ُذ ِب َك ِمنْ َع َذا‬،‫ اَل ٰلّ ُه َّم ِإ ِّنيْ َأع ُْو ُذ ِب َك م َِن ْال ُك ْف ِر َو ْال َف ْق ِر‬، ‫ت‬
‫ اَل ِإ ٰل َه ِإاَّل‬،‫ب ْال َقب ِْر‬ َ ‫َأ ْن‬
َ ‫َأ ْن‬

Allāhumma ʿāfinī fī badanī, Allāhumma ʿāfinī fī samʿī, Allāhumma
ʿāfinī fī baṣarī, lā ilāha illā Ant, Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika
mina-l-kufri wa-l-faqr, wa aʿūdhu bika min ʿadhābi-l-qabr, lā ilāha illā
Ant.

Abu Bakr (r.a.) said, “I heard the Messenger of Allah ‫ ﷺ‬supplicating with
this.”

O Allah, grant me well-being in my body. O Allah, grant me well-being in my

hearing. O Allah, grant me well-being in my sight. There is no god worthy of
worship except You. O Allah, I seek Your protection from disbelief and
poverty and I seek Your protection from the punishment of the grave. There
is no god worthy of worship except You.

‫ِك َما‬َ ‫ِك َو َوعْ د‬ َ ‫ َوَأ َنا َع َل ٰى َع ْهد‬، ‫ َخ َل ْق َت ِنيْ َوَأ َنا َع ْب ُد َك‬، ‫ت‬ َ ‫اَل ٰلّ ُه َّم َأ ْن‬
َ ‫ت َربِّيْ اَل ِإ ٰل َه ِإاَّل َأ ْن‬
، ْ‫ِك َع َليَّ َوَأب ُْو ُء َل َك ِب َذ ْن ِبي‬
َ ‫ َأب ُْو ُء َل َك ِب ِنعْ َمت‬، ‫ت‬
ُ ْ‫ص َنع‬ َ ‫ َأع ُْو ُذ ِب َك ِمنْ َشرِّ َما‬، ‫ت‬ ُ ْ‫اسْ َت َطع‬
َ ‫ب ِإاَّل َأ ْن‬
‫ت‬ ُّ ‫اغ ِفرْ لِيْ َفِإ َّن ُه اَل َي ْغ ِف ُر‬
َ ‫الذ ُن ْو‬ ْ ‫ َف‬.

Allāhumma Anta Rabbī, lā ilāha illā Ant, khalaqtanī wa ana ʿabduk, wa

ana ʿalā ʿahdika wa waʿdika mā’staṭaʿt, aʿūdhu bika min sharri mā
ṣanaʿt, abū’u laka bi niʿmatika ʿalayya wa abū’u laka bi-dhambī
fa-ghfir lī fa-innahū lā yaghfiru-dh-dhunūba illā Ant.

The most superior manner of seeking forgiveness

O Allah, You are my Lord. There is no god worthy of worship except You.
You have created me, and I am Your slave, and I am under Your covenant
and pledge (to fulfill it) to the best of my ability. I seek Your protection from
the evil that I have done. I acknowledge the favours that You have
bestowed upon me, and I admit my sins. Forgive me, for none forgives sins
but You.

ُ ‫اَل ٰلّ ُه َّم ِق ِنيْ َع َذا َب َك َي ْو َم َتب َْع‬.

‫ث عِ َبادَ َك‬
Allāhumma qinī ʿadhābaka yawma tabʿathu ʿibādak.

O Allah, protect me from Your punishment on the day You resurrect Your
servants.

[3 times]

، ‫ ِإنْ َأحْ َي ْي َت َها َفاحْ َف ْظ َها‬، ‫ َل َك َم َما ُت َها َو َمحْ َيا َها‬، ‫ت َت َو َّفا َها‬ َ ‫اَل ٰلّ ُه َّم ِإ َّن َك َخ َل ْق‬
َ ‫ت َن ْفسِ يْ َوَأ ْن‬
‫ اَل ٰلّ ُه َّم ِإ ِّنيْ َأسْ َألُ َك ْال َعا ِف َية‬، ‫اغ ِفرْ َل َها‬
ْ ‫ َوِإنْ َأ َم َّت َها َف‬.

Allāhumma innaka khalaqta nafsī wa Anta tawaffāhā, laka mamātuhā

wa maḥyāhā, in aḥyaytahā fa-ḥfaẓhā, wa in amattahā fa-ghfir lahā,
Allāhumma innī as’aluka-l-ʿāfiyah.

O Allah, indeed You have created my soul and You will cause it to die. To
You Alone belongs its life and death. If You keep my soul alive then protect
it, and if You cause it to die, then forgive it. O Allah, I ask You for well-being.

‫ اَل ٰلّ ُه َّم‬، ‫ت آخ ٌِذ ِب َناصِ َي ِت ِه‬ َ ‫ َو َكلِ َمات‬، ‫اَل ٰلّ ُه َّم ِإ ِّنيْ َأع ُْو ُذ ِب َوجْ ِه َك ْال َك ِري ِْم‬
َ ‫ِك ال َّتا َّم ِة ِمنْ َشرِّ َما َأ ْن‬
‫ َواَل َي ْن َف ُع َذا‬، ‫ َواَل ي ُْخ َلفُ َوعْ ُد َك‬، ‫ اَل ٰلّ ُه َّم اَل ُيه َْز ُم ُج ْن ُد َك‬، ‫ت َت ْكشِ فُ ْال َم ْغ َر َم َو ْال َمْأ َث َم‬ َ ‫َأ ْن‬
‫ِك‬ َ ‫ ُسب َْحا َن َك َو ِب َحمْ د‬، ‫ ْال َج ِّد ِم ْن َك ْال َج ُّد‬.
Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bi wajhika-l-karīm, wa kalimātika-t-tāmmāti
min sharri mā Anta ākhidhu-m-bi nāṣiyatih, Allāhumma Anta
takshifu-l-maghrama wa-l-ma’tham, Allāhumma lā yuhzamu junduk,
wa lā yukhlafu waʿduk, wa lā yanfaʿu dha-l-jaddi minka-l-jadd,
subḥānaka wa bi-ḥamdik.

O Allah, I seek protection by Your Noble Countenance and by Your perfect

words from the evil of all that You hold by the forehead. O Allah, it is You
who removes debt and sin. O Allah, Your army is never defeated, Your
promise is never broken, and the wealth of the wealthy does not avail them
against You. You are free from imperfection, and to You belongs all praise.
