Sports improves our competence
Brings into life top level Brilliance!
Sports bring out our mettle
Gives Strength to face life battles!

A very Good morning to One and all present here. We all have gathered
here today for the 14 th Annual sports day which is going to fill
everyone of us with oodles of “Power”, Self Confidence” and
“Winning spirit.” We are soon going to see the Adrenalines rushing
through our bodies competitive spirit reaching to greater heights.
Happy Cheers. The Joy of winning and Pride of giving our best. Let’s hoot and
show to the world that we are the energetic students of Good Samaritan Public
School are here to forecast and prove our Tip to Toe energy to everybody.
Now I request the entire audience to stand up and cheer our guests of honour.

Guard of Honur

Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed faculty, and beloved students of Good


Samaritan Public School, it is with great honor and privilege that I stand before
you today for this illustrious Sports Day celebration. As we gather here to pay
homage to the spirit of athleticism, it is imperative that we acknowledge the
exemplary individuals who grace us with their presence. Allow me to present to
you our distinguished guests, each a luminary in their respective fields.

Firstly, let us extend a resounding welcome Dr. P. Karthikeyan, a luminary in


the realm of physical education whose scholarly pursuits transcend boundaries
and elevate the discourse within academia. As a distinguished professor in the
Physical Education Department at Annamalai University, Dr. Karthikeyan's
expertise spans the domains of basketball, badminton, and track sports. His
scholarly contributions, including the authorship of multiple seminal works and
mentorship of countless researchers, serve as a testament to his indomitable
spirit and unwavering commitment to advancing the frontiers of knowledge in
physical education.

Next, we extend our warm greetings to Mr. G. Selvarajan, an erudite scholar


and esteemed educator serving as a beacon of inspiration at the Government
Higher Secondary School in Edamanal, Mayiladuthurai District. Armed with a
formidable arsenal of academic credentials, including MA, MPEd, and MPhil
degrees, Mr. Selvarajan epitomizes the fusion of intellect and athleticism. His
steadfast commitment to nurturing young minds in the pursuit of physical
education underscores his unwavering dedication to the holistic development of
our youth.
Lastly, but certainly not least, we are privileged to welcome to Mr. K.
Karthikeyan, a paragon of excellence both on and off the volleyball court. At
the tender age of 20, Mr. Karthikeyan has already etched his name in the annals
of sporting history as a prodigious talent within the Income Tax Department in
Chennai. With a jersey emblazoned with the revered number 17, he assumes the
mantle of a Libero, a position of strategic prowess in the realm of volleyball.
His accolades glitter like gold on the podium of national and international
competitions, including triumphs at the 47th Junior National Volleyball
Championship and the Asian Men's U20 Volleyball Championship, where his
prowess earned him the coveted title of Best Libero. Mr. Karthikeyan's journey
is a testament to the adage that perseverance and dedication are the cornerstones
of greatness.

In conclusion, as we embark on this journey of celebration and camaraderie, let


us not only revel in the triumphs of our esteemed guests but also draw
inspiration from their tireless pursuit of excellence. May their presence ignite a
spark within each of us to strive for greatness in our own endeavors. Thank you.

2. Bible Reading
“The word of God changes lives, renews and encourages your mind and
life.”
In order to reflect upon the power and wisdom of God, as we begin this

from Scriptures.

3. Prayer
Prayer is a surge of the heart. It is a simple book tuned towards heaven.
It’s a cry of recognition and of love embracing both trial and Joy.

song.

4. Prayer Song
Music resembles poetry in which no methods teach and a master’s hand alone
can reach. It washes away the dust of life
from the soul.

Conclusion
Thank you for the prayer team for a good beginning and helping us to receive
the blessings of God.
5. Tamil Thai Vazhthu
Remembering our rich culture and heritage and the importance of
persuving our language and tradition, let us all now stand up and show our
respect and gratitude to our beloved Tamil nation by singing our Tamil Anthem
_______________ Tamil Thai Vazhthu.
Over to school Choir for Tamil Thai Vazhthu.
Conclusion
Thank you nightingales for kindling the spirit of patriotism with your beautiful
voice.

6. Welcome Address
“The joyful heart sees and reads the world with the sense of freedom and
graciousness.”
An idol of knowledge, and experience and inspiration to all of us. We
welcome our Respected Principal Sir Mr. Abraham Enoch to welcome our
honourable Chief Guests, respected dignitaries and all present here.
Thank you sir for your words of welcome.

7. Honoring the chief guest.


Now it’s time to I take this wonderful chance to honour our guest of honours.
1) I would like to call upon our correspondent sir Mr. Radhakrishnan to
honour our chief guest Dr. P. Karthikeyan, M.P.Ed., Ph.D, Associate
Professor, Department of Physical Education, Annamalai university,
Chidambaram.
2) I request our Director sir Mr. Praveen vasanth jabez to honour our special
guest Mr. K. Karthikeyan, Indian National Team Volleyball Player, Next
Mr. Chelladurai the guest of honour , Physical Education teacher and
finally our special invitee Mr. C. Velmurugan, M.A., M.P.Ed., and Mr.
G. Selvarajan, M.A., M.PEd., M.Phill., Physcial Education Teacher
Government high school, Edamanal.

8. Flag Hoisting
Now its time for us to initiate our celebration with the flag hoisting
ceremony. So now I request our Principal Sir to escort the following
dignitaries on the stage to come and hoist the flags and I request the entire
audience to stand up for flag hoisting.
First of all I request our honourable Correspondent Sir Mr. Paul Rathakrishnan
to hoist our National Flag.
I request our distinguished Chief Guest Mr.______________ to hoist the
Olympic Flag.
And followed by our most respected Director Sir. Mr. Praveen Jabez to
hoist our school flag.
Thank you so much dignitaries for your graceful gesture.

9. March Past
March Past is all about synchronization and team work. Marching in a
contingent demands alertness and an unspoken co-ordination.

The drumbeat rolls, the band strikes up and a high pitched voice issues a
command. The synchronized swing of arms and the thudding feet stir
something within us.

We are extremely glad to introduce the four distinctive houses, namely ---
Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire and Topaz.

Here, the march past begins. Right in front marching Master. Prithish
Kumar ASPL for boys and Vice-captain Ms. Raj Dharshini guides the
entire parade of cadets.

Followed by Master. Jayadev, the Sports Captain, who is a


responsible organiser well-mannered person a kabaddi player and a wushu
player participated in state level competition .

Now, at your sight gracious march of Emerald House dressed in green


symbolizes nature, generosity and fertility led by Captain Bavinesh
who is a kabaddi and cricket player and the girls
group is headed by Ms. Bala Swarnambika an athlete and basketball player.

Now, Ruby House is marching majestically in front, dressed in red


symbolizes passion, power, sincerity and strength. The boys’ team is headed
by Mr. Kavin who is a kabaddi player in state level and the girls team is headed
by Ms. Prakalpa shree who is equally good at sports and an academic rank
holder.

Here at insight is the Sapphire House in their blue color which symbolizes
wisdom, trust, loyalty and strength led by the boys captain Mr.Harshavardhan
an athlete at the state level and the girls captain Ms.Raj Parkavi who
is a renowned athlete and an excellent indoor games player.

Now watching the adorable marching of Topaz House dressed in yellow


symbolizes joy, happiness, optimism, idealism led by boys captain Master
Himanshu Raj who is a volley ball and a cricket player and girls captain
Ms.Swathi shree. Is also an athlete and a throw ball player
10. Lighting the Olympic Torch

Now, it’s time to light the Olympic Flame which ignite the passion of
sporting spirit. The flame represents the endeavour for protection and
struggle for victory. The flame symbolizes ‘the light of spirit, knowledge
and life.’
It’s time for calling our Chief Guest ___DR..KARTHIKEYAN_ to light the
Olympic Torch.
The first torch bearer of Olympic flame is Master.
___________________________ , an outstanding sports person.
Now, the Olympic torch is passed on to Master _____________________,
the captain of _________________.
Next, it is handed over to _______________ the captain of
_________________ who exhibits good leadership qualities and an
outstanding sportsman.
The chance of taking over the torch now goes to Master ________________,
the captian of _________________________.
Now, at last but not the least, the torch is handed over to the Captian of
________________________.
Finally, the Olympic torch is handed over to our Physical Education
Director Mrs. Lavanya J to keep the torch in its place.
The flame of peace and harmony is now lit in our school premises and may
this light glow to remove darkness in the lives of all.
