Challenges faced by foreign companies
1 Introduction
Nestlé SA is a global food product company. With its main office located in
Vevey, Switzerland, the company has operations and branches in over 100 nations.
Condensed and powdered milk, infant food, chocolate, cheese, instant coffee and tea,
sauces, and frozen goods are among its offerings. Its origins may be traced back to
1866, when Henri Nestlé formed the Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Co. and another
company to produce the first infant formula. They united to become the Anglo-Swiss
Condensed Milk Co. and Nestlé in 1905. Nestlé invented the first milk chocolate and,
under the brand name Nescafé, the first instant coffee in 1937. It purchased a number
of other businesses, including as Ralston Purina pet foods in 1960, Crosse &
Blackwell in 1960, Stouffer Corp. in 1973, and Carnation Co. in 1984.
Nestlé's purpose to improve people's lives and contribute to a healthier future is
fundamental to who we are. Nestlé, a company committed to sustainability, respect,
and accountability, aims to fulfill changing customer demands while living up to its
corporate social responsibility obligations.

1.1 Nestlé S.A.: An Intimate Weave of History, Mission and Values

The adventure starts with Henri Nestlé, a Swiss pharmacist who created the first milk-
based baby food, Farine Lactée (infant cereal). Nestlé's dedication to nourishing lives
began with this innovative product, which set the stage for a journey that would cross
countries and generations.
Nestlé's trajectory during the next decades was defined by a strategic strategy that
welcomed diversification and an unwavering pursuit of innovation. With the
development of well-known brands like Nestlé Milk Chocolate and Nestlé Crunch,
Nestlé became a major force in the chocolate market in the early 1900s. The 1930s
saw the introduction of Nescafe, the first instant coffee in history, which completely
changed how people throughout the world drank coffee.

One clear and compelling way to sum up Nestlé's objective is to "enhance the quality
of life and contribute to a healthier future." This purpose highlights the significant
influence a global organization can have on people's lives and communities, reflecting
a comprehensive commitment that goes beyond simple corporate objectives.
The idea that a person's quality of life is closely related to the items they use forms the
foundation of Nestlé's goal. In addition to offering food, Nestlé aims to do so in a way
that promotes wellbeing and health. This purpose reflects a fundamental duty to make
a beneficial impact on society as a whole, going beyond the short-term objectives of
profit-making.
