This document includes patterns and instructions for the Cornflower in two stages - fully open
and closed, and two types of leafves.

Finished blossoms measurements:

·Open : ~1.4” (3.5cm) x ~1.0” (2.5cm)

·Closed : ~0.6” (1.5cm) x ~0.8” (2.0cm)

*Leave a long wire tail for each element you crochet, this would allow you to ensure that
everything is attached firmly, and you can later cut the wire.

*I recommend ironing the finished elements.

The Open Flower

The Cornflower consists of flowerhead (capitula), ring of six ray florets and central cluster of
disc florets.

Flowerhead 1
This is the element on which the cornflower petals
will then be crocheted.
It is crocheted in the round, starting with the magic
ring.

Ray florets (petals)

Petals are crocheted in the round. Begin each petal

with the chain row, then work in the rows (up-down),
each row is worked at the back of the previous row
(turn piece with each row).

On the next page - the pattern for one petal is

presented in a slightly simplified version. Perhaps
a bit easier to read.
