2.MEASURING:
1) Take sampling sea water from air vent valve of sea water pump after ten (10) minutes operation
and let the sea water flow out for one (1) minute.
2) Take out two (2) colorimetric tubes from the colorimeter body, put sampling sea water in each
tube up to about 8/10 height (about 25ml) of them.(Fig-1)
*SAMPLING SEA WATER TO BE TESTED SOONESTLY OTHERWISE CORRECT CAN NOT BE MEASURED.
3) Set these two (2) tubes in pocket of both side with colorod glass windows of the colorimeter
body.(Fig-2)
4) Put reagent of 0.5ml in the other tube with pipet first, socondly, add sample sea water to it up to
the markline of 10ml, then set the tube In pocket of center immediately.(Fig-3)
NOTE:
1) Measurement to be carried out accroding to the above mentioned steps sirictly.
2) Keep the reagent at cool dark place always.
3) Avoid to store the reagent in the dropping bottle.
4) Wash the colorimetric tubes and pipet thoroughly after use, let it dried and then return to the
vinyl case.
5) Don't touch the reagent (0-Toidine Hydrochloride Solution) by hand.
1. Piping procedure
1) See Fig-A As shown, fasten the flow meter together with the packing between two flanges with
bolts and nuts.
Note:
i) Piping may be made In either direction of flow provided that the flow meter should be Installed
with the arrow on its body aligned to the direction of flow.
ii) The flow meter, model ODM 300 or 300S, has an Interface spacing of 80 mm with two sheets of
packing Included (one sheet being 2mm thick).
iii) A length of straight pipe should be provided before as well as after the flow meter (for 10 to 15D
*D representing the Inner diameter of the pipe).
2. Caution for flow meter of liquid (See Fig-A)
1) After completion of the piping work, run the system for a while with the stop valves (two) kept In
a state of "shut" In order to flow off any foreign matters In the piping system.
2) With the equalizing valve kept In a state of "open", open the stop valves (two) to the full. After
elapse of about 20 seconds, close the equalizing valve. Measurement Is now possible.
Note:
i) In the case of field Indication, the normal operation may be entered Immediately after the
procedure of subparagraph 2).
ii) The procedure of subparagraph 2) Is performed for the purpose of purging air In the pressure
pipe and pressure receiving unit.
iii) Where the flow has a considerable amount of pulsating and It Is difficult to read the Indicating,
reduce the stop valves appropriately for adjustment. (It Is possible to Interfere the swing of
pointer)
Note:
i) In setting the contacts, OFF the power before any work is made.
ii) For the microswitch the circuit A or B should be used.
C Red - White = Circuit A, C Red - Black or Green = Circuit 0
4. Maintenance and Inspection
1) When the operation Is slopped or otherwise the flow Is suspended, see that the pointer Indicates
the zero point.
2) For the sake of safety, be sure to use the Instrument within the specified pressure and
temperature.
Note:
i) The Indicator pointer has a stopper provided within the Indicator so that If It swings over the
range of scale, there will be no problem.
ii) In order for the Ilquld pressure to Lie tested by the Indicator, It must be 0.05 MPa (G) (0.5
kg/cm2 (G)) or more.
5. Cleaning method
The cleaning Is to be made with the stop valve closed, two cleaning valves opened and equalizing
valve opened (for about 5 minutes).
Upon complectlon of the cleaning, close the cleaning valves and equalizing valve.
