I am an energetic, ambitious person who has developed a mature and responsible approach to any task

The joint-stock company Dwell and Astap ltd is a company my brother and my father set up as a
company operating in the building industry. My role was to supervise construction projects from
beginning to end, ensuring that projects are completed within time and budgetary constraints. An
understanding of the construction business and the ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced
environment was essential for success.
I had to control the time, cost and quality of construction projects, from residential, commercial and
industrial buildings to roads, as well as schools.
I worked for Oxford University Press, a British publishing company, that produces textbooks and
other prints and online educational publications. As a person who loves to read I found this role very
interesting. I was basically a translator and a copy editor as I translated the copies into the Slovak
language and I also checked copies for any grammatical, spelling, and punctuation errors and ensured
readability and proper style. I was not expected just to acquire and edit content, but I was also
expected to serve as a contributor in some cases.
- Teaching at undergraduate and graduate level in areas allocated by the Head of Department.
- Carrying out research and participating on publications, or other research outputs, in line with
personal objectives agreed in the review process.

As a legal interpreter and translator I usually worked in courts and other legal settings. At hearings,
arraignments, depositions, and trials, I was to assist to people who have limited English proficiency.
As a result I had to understand legal terminology as well as judiciary systems.
Furthermore, as a court interpreter I had to be familiar with court procedures and protocols, and
maintain the high ethical standards required by The Code of Professional Responsibility for Court
Interpreters. As a certified court interpreter I consider myself a highly skilled professionals as I had to
to perform at a very high level in the three modes of interpreting (simultaneous interpretation,
consecutive interpretation, and sight translation).

ACTIVITIES / INTERESTS
Sports: Coming from a sporty family I have developed love for sports. Since the age of 6 I was a
member of an athletic club, in 1989 I was announced the fittest child of Czechoslovakia, in 1994 I
came third in the Athletic championship for high and long jump. I have always played volleyball,
tennis, badminton, I love skiing, swimming and running.
Travelling: I really love experiencing new cultures and I love travelling. I have travelled to various
parts of the world; however my favourite spot on Earth must be Prague with its mesmerizing gothic
feel as well as Tuscany with its amazing vineyards. But I also love Asia due to its uniqueness. Not
only did they experience a rapid economic growth integrating their economies to the global market,
but it is a land of opportunities.
History: I have a personal relationship with history. My utter love for history fuelled my love for
travelling as every country has their own unique historical background and interesting stories behind
and I just want to be there and always ready to listen. For me each civilization and empire is
fascinating and it does not need much to attract my attention.
