2. The Buyer – the person who buys the goods or services from the seller.
- the consumer who makes use of the goods.
- chooses the right quality of goods that would best satisfy his/her needs and wants.

Words for Study :


1.marketing transaction – an exchange deal between two persons such as a buyer and a seller.
2. products – goods or merchandise produced or manufactured.
3. services – that which is performed by one in accordance to his profession , specialization , or
expertise
4. profit – income earned from a business.
5. sound buying program – a buying program based on wise decisions ; money equivalent to the quality
of the good paid for.
6. end users – one who uses goods to meet a need or want.
7. right price – a plan of action to buy quality goods for a reasonable price.
8. right quality – the quality of a good or product that is suited to the purpose for it will be used.
9. buying – to purchase goods for a specified amount.
10. sell – to transfer goods in return for a sum of money.
11. buyer – one who acquires goods in exchange for a sum of money.
12. seller – also known as vendor.
13. wholesaler – one who buys in large quantity from manufacturers and producers.
14. producer –one who produces agricultural products like fresh fruits and vegetables.
15. manufacturer – one who converts raw materials into finished goods or products.
Guide to sound buying for both seller and buyer ( consumer )
Sellers and buyers should have a sound buying guide to get the best buy for their money. The guide is :
buy goods from the right source at the right quality and quantity , at the right time and at the right
price.Both seller and buyers should ask themselves ; Would this good or product meet meet my need /
demand ? Or those who will use it? Am I buying goods at the right quality and quantity, that is, will it be
enough to meet my need/demand? Do I need the good at the time that I will make use of it? Am I getting
my money’s worth? If the answers to all the above questions is yes, then the buyer is making a sound
buy.

c. How a buyer behaves in a marketing transaction.
d. How a buyer selects the goods suited to his/her purpose.
e. How a buyer determines the right price for the goods he/she buys.
