THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND
INTRODUCTION
The Laboratory kitchen is one of the sensitive room in our home or school that needs to be
equipped with the right tools and equipments,Insufficient knowledge about laboratory kitchen
can have a impact on the performances of Grade 11 Home economics students at their
laboratory performances.In home economics strand it focuses on combining and applied
academic knowledge while also enhancing skills of the students not only in the proper use of
tools and equipments but also in cooking.When it comes choices and analyzing your going to
determine the tools that align in your cuisine or the product that your going to
make.However,there are often issues with the home economics strand such as,the insufficient
knowledge about the proper usage of tools and equipment of the students,which causes the
learners have complications with the products they prepare.If knowledge in tools and equipments
is insufficient it could cause a health hazard because the food could spoil or not be cooked
thoroughly..Now this study is important in today’s educational system,students will learn
additional information that they can apply to their lives in general and their future in
particular.this is not only teach them about safety,but also help them develop responsibility at
their home.The researchers would like to introduce this study being agreed on which is all about
the availability of knowledge in tools and equipments to the students taking up the home
economics strand as we have all know that we are not the only class or as we say students who
are using laboratory for our own personal use,that needs the laboratory for their lecture. The
objectives of this study is to look at impacts of insufficient knowledge about the proper usage of
tools and equipments to help the learners to determine that the insufficiency of knowledge about
tools and equipment can affect the students knowledge,skills and academic performances and to
gave awareness that with the right usage of tools and equipment in kitchen can perform
effectively and correctly.
SCOPE AND LIMITATION
This study is under qualitative research and the purpose is to determine and obtain information
about the The Impact of Insufficient Knowledge on the Use of Tools and Equipment In
Laboratory Performances of Grade 11 Home Economics At AISAT College- Quezon City. The
participants of the study will be Cookery Students in Grade 11 and 12,ages 16 to 18 level among
the various characteristics that might be used to describe the respondents. Only 30 senior high
school students are chosen randomly to be included as respondents for the school year
2023-2024 at Grade 11 Home Economics At AISAT College- Quezon City.
This study will focus only on how the Insufficient Knowledge about the Use of Tools and
equipment will affect the Home Economics Students at AISAT College-Quezon City.It is
important to know because it may influence their academic performances.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

This study focuses on the The Impact of Insufficient Knowledge on the Use of Tools and
Equipment in Laboratory Performances of Grade 11 Home Economics Students At AISAT
College Quezon-City.This study is conducted to benefit the following:
Students.This study may serve as a guide for the students who are currently taking a strand of
Home Economics to learn about the correct usage of tools and equipment in the kitchen.Also
guide to those students that will also partake in this kind of study.
Teachers.This will serve as a guide for teachers in teaching the proper ways of using kitchen
tools and equipment.
The Researchers.This will enable them to gain significant knowledge in this study.It improves
their skills and knowledge in handling research.
Future Researchers.Future researchers can also gain significant knowledge in this study.it may
serve as a big help for upcoming more broad study.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
The problem to be addressed in this study is The Impact of Insufficient Knowledge on the Use of
Tools and Equipment in Laboratory Performances of Grade 11 Home Economics Students.The
one affected by this problem is the students who are partaking in an activity in the kitchen
laboratory.Having insufficient knowledge on the uses of said tools and equipments can lead into
misuse and malfunctions that can be a hazard to students operating it.This study aims to find the
answers for the following:
1.}Why does it need to be studied?
2.}What will be the impact of knowing how to properly use kitchen tools and equipment to a
student?
3.}Why is it important to know the proper use of kitchen tools

CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK
The researchers adopted the Independent Variable-Dependent Variable {IV-DV} model. It
involves all the information that is needed in the process, the details of the process and the guide
