SEPIGEL 11 API 13A BENTONITE // ISO 13500 Clause 11

DESCRIPTION
SEPIGEL11 is a premium-quality API Spec 13A Section 11 natural bentonite (a sodium montmorillonite
clay) viscosifier. This has not been chemically treated. It is used as a primary filtercakebuilding,
filtrationcontrol and suspension agent in freshwater systems, and has application in
all waterbase mud systems. SEPIGEL11 viscosifier is a highquality product that meets the ISO 13500
Clause 11 (formerly known as API Spec 13A, Section 9) specifications for Bentonite.

APPLICATION

component for a variety of water-base muds.

RECOMMENDED TREATMENT
Typical concentrations for SEPIGEL viscosifier range from (15 to 90 kg/m3)
As with all bentonite products, the yield decreases as the salinity increases. In muds containing
chlorides, the performance of SEPIGEL viscosifier is significantly reduced unless it is prehydrated in
freshwater, before adding it to the mud system.

PACKAGING
SEPIGELviscosifier is packaged in 25 KG multiwall paper sacks and is available in bulk.
