PRE-LESSON: (10 minutes)


1. Teacher asks the class about the 3R’s (Reuse, reduce and recycle).
2. Teacher shows a short video about the importance of recycling.

3. Teacher asks pupils what they thought of the video

LESSON DEVELOPMENT: (40 minutes)


Activity 1: Listening
1. Teacher gives out an exercise based on the podcast audio that will be played.
Material 2: Listening exercise questions
2. Teacher gives some time for the pupils to read the questions and highlight the main points they should be listening
for.
3. Teacher plays a recording of a podcast for the pupils to listen to when they are ready.

4. Teacher discusses the answers with the class.


5. Teacher explains if there is anything the pupils did not understand or couldn't pick up in the audio.

Activity 2: Speaking
1. Teacher mentions that not everyone recycles.
2. Teacher asks the class to think about why some people do not recycle and suggest something to encourage
recycling in Malaysia
3. Teacher asks the pupils to speak their answers via voice message in the Telegram chat group.
4. Teacher responds to the answers and encourages the class discussion.

POST-LESSON: (10 minutes)


1. Teacher ends the lesson by asking a few pupils to recap the lesson and list down the new vocabulary they learnt
today regarding recycling terms.
2. Teacher revises the terms’ meanings so the pupils understand the words properly.
3. Teacher ends the class.

TEACHER’S REFLECTION:

Due to a number of the pupils having difficulties with their internet connection, this lesson is made asynchronous to ensure
that everyone in the class can participate in the lesson without having to use heavy data that is required for synchronous
learning.

Both Main and Complementary Skills should be addressed in the Lesson Development stage.
