P2 explains how a range of health behaviours affect an Students need to come to class prepared to
individual’s health complete the in-class Social Construct of
Health Task on Wednesday 5 June. All
P3 describes how an individual’s health is determined by a writing paper will be supplied. No resources
range of factors can be brought in for the assessment.

P4 evaluates aspects of health over which individuals can exert


some control

Context for the Task


This task examines the perceptions individuals have about health and the range of factors and behaviours that
influence health. Students investigate the following critical questions:
● What influences the health of individuals?
● What strategies help promote the health of individuals?
After completing this task, students will understand and value how a wide range of factors interact to support an
individual to achieve better health.

Task:
Students will be required to call on information covered in class and through individual investigation to respond
knowledgeably to a range of inquiry questions relating to Rural and Remote Health.
Resources can be found on schoology as well as on their own investigation.

3. Compare the social-construct of health that is present in Remote communities to that of your own
community. (8 marks)

4. Propose a range of strategies that might assist those living in Remote communities to overcome some of
the influences on their social construct of health. (8 marks)
