RESOLUTION REQUESTING HONORABLE MAYOR PETER PAUL T.
VALENTIN, THRU THE MUNICIPAL LOCAL DISASTER RISK REDUCTION
MANAGEMENT CENTER, FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE RELATIVE TO THE
INFORMATION AND EDUCATION CAMPAIGN AND OTHER ACTIVITIES OF
FORTY THOUSAND PESOS ONLY (P40,000.00) OF BARANGAY KIBLAGON
ON DISASTER PREPAREDNESS, MANAGEMENT AND RESPONSE PROJECTS
WHEREAS, calamities and disaster, whether natural or man-made has been

happening elsewhere and due to its unpredictability, governments and people are
usually caught unaware. Hence, higher office has been emphasizing all barangay
government to integrate owned disaster management in their respective programs
and projects;
WHEREAS, considering that calamities particularly, natural one is unpredictable and
cannot be prevented, especially earthquake, focus is now preparedness and
mitigation to lessen the impact of damages and losses the lives and properties;
WHEREAS, one of the strategies is to conduct an information and education
campaign to make people to aware, informed and be ready in times of disasters and
calamities, aside from that, the barangay will also conduct clean-up drive;

WHEREAS, while the barangay has funds for disaster management but it is not
enough and we have known that the municipal government has a program to assist
barangay government on their disaster management programs and projects by
extending financial assistance;
WHEREFORE, premised on forgoing, be it.
RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved to request the Honorable Mayor Peter Paul T.
Valentin for the financial assistance to help the barangay in their information and
education campaign and other activities on disaster preparedness and management
activities;
UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED, during its Regular Session held on October 2, 2023

at Barangay Session Hall of Kiblagon, Malalag, Davao del Sur.

V. RATIONALE:
R.A 7160 otherwise known as the Local Government Code 1991 mandated the
Punong Barangay as Local Chief Executive to overlook the General Welfare of
Barangay People specially safe and comfort to clients acquiring documents, settling
cases through the Sangguniang Barangay motion regarding improvements to
Barangay facility office for effective and efficient delivery of public services and
governance.
VI. OBJECTIVES:
1. To answer the need for sustainability of the structure.
2. To have a conducive facilities during the meetings of tribal council or
other IPs activities.
3. To comfort clients and office workers.
4. To make Barangay Kiblagon shown as an improved one as identified.
5. To recognize the need of Indigenous People.
