The Question Paper consists of three sections A, B and C.

Candidates are required to attempt all questions from Section A and all questions
EITHER from Section B OR Section C.

questions of four marks each and two questions of six marks each.

Section B: Internal choice has been provided in one question of two marks and one
question of four marks.

Section C: Internal choice has been provided in one question of two marks and one
question of four marks.

adjacent to the rest of the answer.

(i) A bag contains 8 red and 5 white balls. Two successive draws of 3 balls are made at random
from the bag without replacements. Find the probability that the first draw yields 3 white balls
and the second draw 3 red balls.

(ii) A box contain 4 red and 5 black marbles. Find the probability distribution of the red marbles
in a random draw of three marbles.

Question 11 [6]

A trust invested some money in two types of bonds. The first bond pays 10% interest and second
bond pays 12% interest. The trust received ₹ 2800 as interest. However, if trust had interchanged
money in bonds, they would have got ₹100 less as interest. Using matrix method find the amount
invested by the trust.

the printed area will be maximum?

(ii) Prove that the least perimeter of an isosceles triangle in which a circle of radius 𝑟 can be
inscribed is 6√3𝑟.

Bag A contains 2 white, 1 black and 3 red balls, Bag B contains 3 white, 2 black and 4 red balls
and Bag C contains 4 white, 3 black and 2 red balls. One Bag is chosen at random and 2 balls are
drawn at random from that bag. If the randomly drawn balls happen to be red and black, what is
the probability that both balls come from Bag 𝐵 ?

Question 22 [4]

A toy company manufactures two types of dolls 𝐴 and 𝐵. market test and available resources
have indicated that the combined production level should not exceed 1200 dolls per week and the
demands for the dolls of type 𝐵 is almost half of that for dolls of type 𝐴. Further, the production
level of type 𝐴 can exceed three times the production of dolls of other type by at most 600 units.
If the company makes profit of `12 and `16 per doll respectively on dolls 𝐴 and 𝐵, how many of
each type of dolls should be produced weekly, in order to maximize the profit?
