    INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS
    for
    HF DISINFECTION DEVICES
    MEDISTER 60/160

    1. Installation site
    The installation site must be a room meeting the following requirements:

    - Power outlet

    - Water supply

    - Exhaust air connection

    - Drain pipe connection

    - Permanent room temperature > 10 °C < 35 °C

    - Space requirements according to Pt. 7 of the installation requirements

    - Ventilation of room by exhaust air fan

    - Adequate lighting

    - Sufficient space to stack already disinfected and not yet disinfected


    MEDITAINER containers separately

    MEDISTER 60/160 is not intended for use in potentially explosive areas and / or
    combustion-promoting atmosphere.

    The mounting platform must be level and stable.


    Do not set up the MEDISTER 60/160near another source of heat. Maximum
    permissible ambient temperature: 35°C.

    Because of thermal reasons all ventilation openings (lateral and rear) have to be free
    accessible and uncovered all the time. The minimum clearance from walls and other
    devices must be at least 500 mm.

    2. Electrical supply

    50Hz supply: 3 x 400/230V 50Hz + N +PE, 16A Euro-connector


    60Hz supply: 3 X 230V 60Hz + PE 16A Euro-connector

    Minimum circuit fusing: 16 A slow

    3. Exhaust air connection


    METEKA recommends to use only plastic pipes with nominal dimensions 100
    mm for the exhaust air drain of MEDISTER 60/160.

    Exhaust amount 130m³/h


    Max. length of the exhaust tube made of plastic (∅=100mm): 10m
    This total length will be reduced by 1m per a 90° elbow or a similar junction.

    Make sure that you use only pipes that are liquid and gas tight.

    4. Drain pipe connection

    The drainage of the condensate is done by a silicon tube, ∅12mm into the drain.

    The connection of the drain pipe for the MEDISTER 160 provided by customer
    has to be lower (min. 10 cm) than the exhaust of the condensate drainage tube
    of the device (=610mm) to guarantee a difference for total emptying of the tube.

    The connection of the drain pipe for the MEDISTER 60 provided by customer has
    to be lower (min. 10 cm) than the exhaust of the condensate drainage tube of the
    device (=330 mm) to guarantee a difference for total emptying of the tube.

    If there is no drain connection available, the usage of a container for collecting


    the condensate with a minimum capacity of 5 L is possible.
    The container has to be emptied regularly.

    5. Water supply

    3/4“ tap water connection

    Flow pressure between 2.5 and 6.0 bar

    Install a stop valve in the water supply line at a point that is easily accessible

    Install a coarse filter and an aquastop device on the incoming line, if required.

    6. Space requirements (see drawing on page 4, 5)

    The exhaust air drain and electrical supply of MEDISTER 60/160 are connected
    at the right of the device. So it is possible to place the device with its rear straight
    to the wall.
    In addition, MEDISTER 60/160 has three removable covers that have to be freely
    accessible for service. There is one cover on the left and on the right and another
    one at the top of the device.
    The door for loading the device is at the front. The door hinge is on the right. The
    door space provided must allow for a minimum 90° door opening angle.

    8. Extern electric pump

    If the water pressure is lower then 2.5 bar, an external pressure rising pump is
    required.
    For connection to the electrical supply the extern electric pump requires a socket
    230 V 50/60 Hz and a PE conductor.

    Minimum circuit fusing: 10 A

    Connection to the water supply:

    Incoming line: ¾“ tap water connection. A coarse filter and a aquastop have to be
    installed in the incoming line. For the connection of the pump to the MEDISTER
    60/160 a ½“ flexible tube with a length of 2,5 m is delivered by METEKA.
