METHOD STATEMENT OF ROOM INTEGRITY TEST

INTEGRITY TESTING

1 General

A room pressurization test shall be conducted, in each protected space, to

determine the presence of opening which would affect the agent
concentration levels. The test shall be conducted using the Door Fan
system or equivalent with integrated computer program. All testing shall be
in accordance with NFPA 2001 Appendix C.

2 Evaluation

The enclosure and immediate surrounding area is initially examined

visually to assess All doors outside the area that are require to be open for the test
are wedged open with suitable notices posted to advise personnel. Where void
are protected by FM 200,1% of floor and ceiling tile are remove to ensure a uniform
air flow.

The enclosure is put in the state it would be inn prior to a discharge, e.g.
ventilation system shut down, dampers closed, etc.

4 Door Fan Installation

A door fan unit is installed in the designated test door in accordance with
the manufacturer’s instruction.

The gauge are zeroed by taking them to full scale deflection and holding
for approximately ten seconds, after which the gage are gently tapped and
erode.

5 Enclosure Evaluation

Static pressure Measurement

With door fan equipment fully installed and with all openings closed, a
measurement of any pressure difference between the enclosure and the relief area
is made. If the measurement is greater than 25% of column pressure its causes are
ascertained and if possible permanently reduce or eliminated.

Total Enclosure Method

Calculate column pressure and column pressure plus 30% shall be created using an
adequate range of one fan or a number of fans. The pressure difference, and the air

flow required to generate this, is then recorded. This is carried out for both
pressurization and depressurization mode. The total equivalent leakage area and
the retention time are calculated.

A. Calculation

A portable computer is used to collate the data and calculate the values. Then a
detailed hard copy of these data will be provided with signed and stamped from
approved engineer which will be the final room integrity test report.

B. Leakage Location
If the enclosure fails the test, the room need to be thoroughly inspected for any
openings . The test need to be repeated after sealing all openings.

After completing the test generate report and submit to client.
