Narrative Report

In compliance to the memorandum issued by the Department of Education


National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill; and in line with the month-long celebration
of the National Disaster Coordinating Council which is National Disaster Prevention
and Consciousness Month, a simultaneous earthquake drill is being done in every
public or private schools in the country. Our school is privileged to participate in this
very remarkable act. This is in accordance with the guidelines prescribed in the DepEd
Disaster Management Operations Manual with the help of the LDRRMO.
Earthquake is one of the famous disaster caused people die or injure. It
cannot be predicted when and where it would happen. This is mostly happen in places
where people are hanging around and working. Earthquake is understood by being a
natural phenomenon caused by the constant movement of the earth's crystal plates
and due to climate change. In this connection, it is our responsibility to practice and
internalize the risk reduction measure to eventually make a habit of being prepared
before, during and after a calamity, be it natural or human made. On November 09,
2023 at 9 in the morning, the School Head Mr. Gemayel R. Tadique and School DRRM
coordinator Maria Corazon S. Talao, and all teachers, conducted the said earthquake
drill to pacify essential information needed by both teachers and the learners, and
shall practice "duck, cover, hold with Go-Bag" procedure as a minimum requirement.
Before the conduct of the earthquake drill, the School DRMM Coordinator instructed
all the teachers and staff that after the bell rings, everybody must perform the activity
such as to duck, to hold and to cover. When the teacher had secured already the area
to be safe for the students and teachers, they went out from their classroom and went
directly to the assigned areas in front of stage. They covered their heads while walking
safely. Then the adviser did a head count to make sure that all students were

complete. The national simultaneous earthquake drill was conducted, and Pulong
Bahay Elementary School was pleased to be a part of this event. The teachers did
their best to portray their roles especially the proper action and response during
earthquakes. The activity was successfully done through the collaborative efforts of
Pulong Bahay Elementary School teachers and staffs headed by the school head and
DRRM coordinator.
