Shinomiya Ryouma (Yuki) Feats/Statements

(And a little speculation)

Shinomiya is from “Though you may burn to ash”. I went into this manga thinking
that it was going to be completely terrible. But despite how short it is (because the
author died -> RIP) the main character has some decent feats/statements, etc., that I
felt like making a short doc on. Also, some of the characters are unironically well written
(Recette being the best), imo.
The manga’s about a bunch of people visited by an angel who tempts them into
risking their lives for what they need most, money. It’s a little more than their lives on the
line, looking at the gruesome ways some of the characters die (one thing I’ll say is I
think the gore art is really solid, well done by the artist). These people are killed by the
angel, and can only get their lives back (as well as the money they need) if they win a
series of games given by some angels. Obviously, major spoilers for this manga. Now,
onto the summary.
I'm going to summarize basically the entire manga. Some of this has little to
nothing to do with the character I'm analyzing, but if I ever want to analyze another
character, I want the summary here to help me navigate where other character feats
are.
Finally, before the actual doc starts, here’s the order of contents:

Even or Odd:

Shinomiya is hit by a truck and dies. Five women suddenly appear in a room
(one of them being Shinomiya, who’s suddenly a woman). The other 4 women explain
that they also died. The angel, Kroel, reveals herself and explains the game to
everyone. Kroel reveals the winner may win up to 999 900 000 000 yen. Most of the
women aren’t as panicked as when they first arrived, more excited over the prospect of
money. One woman, however, warns everyone not to trust her and demands to be
brought back to life. Kroel asks what her name is, to which she replies “Kenichirou
Yokochi”. Kroel starts laughing and everyone starts to freak out. Kenichirou is slow to
realize she’s started to fall apart. Kenichirou dies a gruesome death. Kenichirou’s body
reverts to her real world body after she dies, that of an old man. Kroel explains that
revealing your real name means death. Shinomiya points out that there were five people
to start, but only 4 chairs were prepared. Someone suggests that they all work together
to survive and get money, Shinomiya agrees. Shinomiya suggests they need trust
though, so everyone gives a reason they need money, as well as how much they need.
Shinomiya tells the truth that he needs 1 billion yen to save his sister. Kroel explains the
rules of the game.

Kroel will lend 10 million to each player to start. There will be a roller each round
who rolls two dice. The roller changes each round evenly. The players will be betting on
whether the total of the two dice will be even or odd. The players are given even and
odd tokens to vote. Which way you vote is hidden from other players. The players each
must declare whether they voted odd or even. The players are allowed to lie about this.
But every player is allowed to call out another player for lying. The accused player must
then tell the truth. If the accuser is correct that the accused was lying, then the accused
must pay the accuser the sum of both of their bets. Also, Kroel will give the attacker a
bonus (doubling the amount the accused bet). These penalties are reversed if the
accused was telling the truth. The lowest amount that can be bet is one yen.

Shinomiya points out that these rules make no sense. All of the players could just
lie and not accuse anyone indefinitely. Kroel explains that she loves seeing humans turn
on each other. She also explains the final rule. The game will only last for ten rounds,
and one player must go bankrupt (which will result in their death). If at least one player
doesn’t go bankrupt and dies by the end of the match, all players die. Kroel forces the
players to come up with names to use in place of their real names. Shinomiya goes with
“Yuki”, the name of the sister he’s trying to save. Kroel points out that he used his
sister’s name to everyone. By the way, if you’ve read a bit into the manga, then you
might realize something. This either tanks someone’s intelligence substantially or tanks
the writing moderately. Anyway, the other three players go by Meganeko, Yamada, and
Reina. Reina has stated before the game starts that she has no problem with killing
people for money.
In the first round, Yamada bets 1.5 million, Meganeko bets 3.98 million, Yuki bets
5 million, and Reina bets all 10 million. Reina starts calling Meganeko a hypocrite for
her attitude thus far, and says she’ll kill everyone here. Yuki tells Meganeko she won’t
let her die and there’s no reason to listen to Reina’s bluff. Reina gets upset with Yuki for
calling what she’s said a bluff, but Yuki points out how loud Reina’s foot tapping on the
ground has gotten. Kroel gives the first dice roll to Yamada. Meganeko thanks Yuki, but
Yuki says there is no reason to thank her as she just didn’t want Reina to be full of
herself. Yamada rolls an even for the first roll. Yuki doesn't change expressions and
doesn’t react to the results of the dice. Yamada, Reina, and Meganeko state they bet on
even. Yuki states she bet on odd. Nobody challenges.

Round 1 Starting Value Amount won Result

Yuki 10m -5m 5m

Meganeko 10m 3.98m 13.98m

Yamada 10m 1.5m 11.5m

Reina 10m 10m 20m

In round 2, Reina is the roller. Yamada bets 3m, Reina bets 5m, Meganeko bets
4.98m, and yuki bets 2.5m. Reina rolls an odd. Reina, Yamada, and Meganeko confess
they bet on odd. Yuki confesses she bet on even. Reina challenges Meganeko. Reina
loses.

Round 2 Starting Value Amount bet Amount won Result

Yuki 5m 2.5m -2.5m 2.5m

Yamada 11.5m 3m 3m 14.5m

Reina 20m 5m -9.98m 10.02m

Meganeko asks Yuki if Yuki will be alright in the next round, and later clarifies when
asked, that she means Yuki won’t kill herself.
In round 3, Yuki is the roller. Yuki bet’s 2.5m, Reina bets 10.02m. Yamada bets 4.5m,
and Meganeko bets 30.98m. Yuki rolls an odd. Once again, everyone other than Yuki
states they bet on the answer that showed up. Yuki says she voted even. Meganeko
throws a tantrum, saying it can’t end like this. Yuki confirms some things directly with
Meganeko, then tells Kroel that Meganeko attacked her in the game. Meganeko loses
the attack.

Meganeko asks the angel if players can borrow more money. Kroel says yes, but
that it’s a one time deal. She also asks Meganeko which hand is her dominant one.
Meganeko answers her left. Kroel gives 50m that doesn’t need to be paid back.
However, Kroel cuts off all of Meganeko’s fingers on her left hand one by one in different
ways.
In round 4, Meganeko bets 1 yen and Yuki bets 50.399998m (to try and bankrupt
Meganeko). Meganeko rolls an odd. Everyone states they bet on odd. Kroel adds in a
new element to the game. Above all of the players is a screen now showing how many
players truly bet on odd and even. Meganeko immediately points out the unfairness of
this. Yuki attacks Meganeko and wins. Meganeko passes out

The players get a short break from the game to let Meganeko recover. Yamada
speaks to Meganeko privately before they continue the game. Yamda states she
believes Meganeko deserves to survive much more than Yuki does. Yamada tells
Meganeko about a “sure-fire” way to win the game if they work together. Yamada and
Meganeko will use the new display board to be certain of when to attack. If a player gets
the winning die, and the other three get the losing, then the player who’s telling the truth
knows the others are liars. This is only a 1 in 16 chance though (4^2 -> 4 players, 2
options). However, when two players are working together, betting on the opposite, this
chance is brought up to 1 in 2 (Uncertain -> abab, abba, Certain -> abbb, abaa). (which
isnt a certain win strategy, but Yamada needed to calm Meganeko to get her help
against Yuki)

Yamada bet 20m, Meganeko bet 0.000001m, Reina bet 30m, and Yuki bet 140m.
Yamada rolls an odd, the display board reads 1 odd and 3 even. Yamada attacks Yuki
and wins.

Display board -> 1 odd, 3 even

Yamada 28m 20m 320m 348m

Reina 30.04m 30m 30m 60.04m

The dice come up even. Everyone states they bet on even. Meganeko attacks
Yuki and wins. Yuki realizes (or pretends to just realize) and points out that Meganeko
and Yamada are working together using the display board.

Display board -> 1 odd, 3 even

Yamada 348m 320m 320m 668m

Reina 60.04m 60m 60m 120.04m

The dice come up odd, everyone declares odd. Meganeko copies what Yuki did
earlier, by betting near but not at the amount that would bankrupt Yuki. Meganeko
immediately attacks Yuki. Yuki tells Meganeko to take it back and begs Meganeko to let
Yuki save her sister. Yamada tells Meganeko not to get fooled. Meganeko
acknowledges that Yuki has a wish she wants to keep but Meganeko refuses to revoke
her attack. Meganeko wins.

Display board -> 3 odd, 1 even

Yuki 0.379996m 0.3m -0.37995m 0.000001m

Yamada 668m 600m 600 1268m

Reina 120.04m 100m 100m 220.04m

Yamada signs to Meganeko that she's going to end the game in round 8. Yuki
gives a proposal. Yuki challenges Yamada to a special match. The conditions: they
show each other the tokens they’re betting with. Yamada immediately disagrees. Yuki
continues that only two 6s will count as even, Yuki will bet on even, so Yuki loses if the
dice show anything else. Yuki also states the dice will be rolled twice. Yuki has to get
double sixes two times in a row. Rolled once by Meganeko and once by Yamada. Given
the terrible success rate of 1/36^2 Yuki demands Yamada bets at least 250m. Yamada
thinks about it for a bit, interrupted by Reina saying there isn't really a choice to make,
the odds are stacked against Yuki, and Yamada might as well accept. Reina then asks
Kroel if she's okay with this, as it is Kroel’s game. Kroel says she doesn't mind. Yamada
accepts the challenge after this. Yuki asks Meganeko if she’s fine with it as well, and
she says yes. For round 8 only, everyone shows a token. The only person to show an
even token is Yuki. Yuki bets 1 yen, Reina bets her current total, Meganeko bets 20m,
and Yamada bets 1b. Yamada gives Meganeko the ok sign (Meganeko’s trying to gain
as much money as possible from the round). Meganeko rolls two 6s. Yamada rolls a 6
and a 4. Everyone states they bet on odd. Yamada reasons that Yuki could’ve switched
the tokens out, but the display board reading 3-1 didn’t allow for that. Yamada attacks
Yuki. And loses. Yamada calls Yuki out for cheating for betting on odd when according
to the rules she was supposed to bet on even. But Kroel says she never cared what
rules the players set up for themselves, she was enforcing the rules of the original
game. Yamada keeps complaining about Yuki cheating, but Yuki brings up that Yamada
working together with Meganeko should also be considered cheating if Yamada keeps
complaining. Yamada backs down. Yamada gives Meganeko the ok sign. Yuki asks if
that's the ok sign. Yuki declares there will be no round 10. Yuki will kill someone in
round 9.

Display board -> 3 odd, 1 even

Reina 220.04m 220.04m 220.04m 440.08m

Yamada changes plans. She decides to target Reina. But Reina only bets 1 yen in
round 9. Yamada needs to change plans again. Yamada bets 260m and Yuki bets
7.999999m yen (just enough to kill Yamada). Yamada changes her bet without telling
Meganeko. Yamada bets on even instead of odd (which she’s supposed to). The dice
come up odd and the display board comes up 2-2. Yamada declares odd. Yuki declares
odd. Yuki then asks “oh, that’s right, you bet on odd didn’t you, Joushouji?” (Reina’s
surname). And Reian says “yes, of course I did, I bet on even”. Yamada realizes that
Yuki did swap tokens in round 8. And it worked because Yuki and Reina were working
together, and Reina bet on even. Yuki declares it's time to attack. But Yamada strikes
first. Yamada attacks Meganeko. And loses. Meganeko has also switched her vote to try
and save Yamada. Yamada loses all of her money. Yamada realizes that if Meganeko
also switched, there'd be no way to use the display board to know for certain what
Yamada or Meganeko bet on when the display reads 2-2. Yamada asks Yuki if she
knew which voted on what. Yuki says she couldn’t know, and declaring she’d kill
someone in round 9 was a bluff. Kroel brutally tortures and executes Yamada. Yamada
is found to be someone important to Meganeko in the real world. Meganeko reveals her
true name and dies (by the way if I were to do a Kroel doc, there’d only be one
outsmarting category -> ruthlessness. And it might be the most stacked category of all
time). Both Yamada and Meganeko’s true forms are revealed. Yuki realizes that she
vaguely knows (saw her once) Meganeko in the real world. And that she must know
Reina. Kroel explains that everyone participating in the game knows each other in some
way. Reina is about to ask for an idea of Yuki’s identity, but Yuki says she doesn't care.
Yuki explains there’s no point in knowing that now that the game is over. Yuki demands
the money from Kroel. Yuki asks that she just wants 1 billion, the rest goes to Reina.
Kroel gives them their money. Yuki demands that Kroel sends them back to the real
world. Kroel feigns ignorance. Yuki gets pissed. Kroel explains that she never said this
was the only round of the game. This was only the preliminary round. Yuki and Reina
must go through a very long and bright hallway to make it to the next game. With that,
this game is over.

Upon exiting the hallway, Yuki and Reina meet a young girl who immediately
offers them both a handshake. She introduces herself as Rin Suzuno. Yuki and Reina
don't offer Rin their hand so Rin tries to hug, resulting in Yuki dodging her multiple
times. Yuki is suspicious of the fact that Rin is by herself when only one person needs to
die for the prelim. Rin points the suspicion back at Yuki and Reina, which causes Reina
to begin answering. Yuki stops Reina from giving any information. Rin tries to shake
Reina’s hand, but Kroel interrupts and warns Rin not to mess with other players before
everyone shows up. Kroel warns Yuki and Reina that Rin killed all of the other players in
her prelim. With a single handshake she was able to surmise the identities of the other
players, and gave all of their names. This all happened before the prelim even started,
allowing Rin to win by default. The other players now show up. Here is a list of every
player:

Group A: Sara, Recette, Kaede

Group B: Shouko, Kiran, Liv

Group C: Niseko Usotsuni, Shizuku Kirikasumi

Group D: Garnet, Fugudoku, Nanashi

Group E: Rin

Kroel explains there will be 3 more games (this is wrong, RIP to the author).
Kroel says only two people can survive at the end of the final game. Reina immediately
tries to team with Yuki, but Yuki ignores her. Kroel gives everyone food, bath, and sleep
before starting the next game.

Everyone gets a ton of food. Reina is sitting next to Rin. Rin points out that all
they are given is meat, and then asks what Kroel does with the deceased players.
Reina starts freaking out, but Recette interrupts saying “it's alright, this doesn't taste like
human, it's definitely pork”. Rin asks Recette if she's actually eaten someone before.
Recette has a temporary mental breakdown. Rin points out to Reina that Garnet has
been standing the whole time and hasnt eaten. Reina offers Garnet some food, but
Garnet refuses to accept food given by Kroel. Plus Garnet adds that all of her dominant
hand’s fingers were cut off, so it'd be a hassle to eat.

Yuki hasn't been eating and is stuck in thought. She suggests to herself that Rin
is the person she should be most wary of. Kiran interrupts with some ramblings about
being an idol. Sara asks people to keep it down while she thinks of a way to stop the
game. Yuki thinks to herself that besides Rin, the person she should be wary of is
Shouko. Shouko wasn't looking at her food while eating, she was watching everyone
else. Niseko tries to get Yuki's attention, and in the process loses her glasses. Niseko
says she was worried for Yuki as she wasn't touching her food. Yuki says she doesn't
have much of an appetite. Niseko starts explaining how scared she is, but she has the
will to push forward because she loves someone. Niseko says this person will give her
courage. The courage to kill. Niseko says that was a joke.

Then there's some fanservice. Everyone gets in the bath. Oh yeah, not every
character is female, but they are all in female bodies. Reina slaps Yuki and hides herself
because she assumes Yuki is a guy (she's right). But Yuki doesn't react, leading Reina
to assume that maybe Yuki is a girl. Yuki declares Reina to be a girl based on her
reaction to Yuki seeing her. Reina says she wasn't embarrassed, then Yuki tells her to

💀
prove it (completely out of character, Yuki already had reason to believe Reina is a
woman, the author really needed an excuse to show off some naked women ). Reina
stops covering herself. Someone, revealed to be Rin, tells her to spread her legs (when
did Koji get in this manga?) and then calls her a pervert. Reina blames Yuki to Rin, but
Yuki disappeared. Rin gets Reina to wash her hair. Rin says she knows a lot about
Joushouji (Reina’s last name if you forgot). Both that he's a loan shark, and sells
organs. Rin says Reina isn't him, but rather someone related to him by blood, favor, or
grudge. Reina quickly gets away from Rin.
As Yuki is in thought, she sits down and runs into Niseko again. Yuki points out
Niseko wearing glasses in the bath. Niseko declares “you wore glasses in your past life,
didnt you?”. Yuki asks why Niseko thinks that. Niseko says that the first thing Yuki
noticed was Niseko’s glasses and that the person Niseko likes wore glasses. Yuki tries
to leave, but Niseko grabs her. Niseko says Yuki is turning red and declares Yuki was a
guy. Yuki tries harder to leave, trips and pushes down Shizuku while tearing off her
towel. Shizuku covers herself and punches Yuki. Yuki thinks Shizuku is definitely a girl.
Everyone goes to sleep.

Kroel starts to explain the game they're going to be playing (Yes, we’re just
getting to the actual game now). Garnet interrupts her, telling her to dropdead. Garnet
stabs Kroel dead. Everyone starts freaking out as they can no longer return to the real
world. Garnet says that Kroel forced her to kill her twin sister. Garnet further stabs and
curses Kroel’s corpse. Then Kroel joins in. Kroel tells Garnet her hate is misplaced,
Garnet should have recognized her twin even if she looked different (Kroel really sucks,
I hate this character, not like writing wise, they just suck so much). Kroel reaches into
Garnet's skull and crushes her brain. There's some sci fi bs why Kroel cant die. She
exists in multiple forms. All the characters are put into gym clothes and transported to a
school. Okay, now we’re actually onto the rules of the game.

Rules:

- 10 safe players, and 3 its

- Everyone starts in different areas of the school
- Its have to touch someone with the full palm of their hand to tag them and they
have to say “gotcha”
- An it who tags someone and says gotcha will be immediately transported to
another location (completely random location)
- Time limit of one hour
- People who are it when the time is up will be eliminated (tortured, then killed)
- Starting its are decided randomly
- Its do not have to announce they are it
- Two safes joining hands are rendered invincible as long as they are holding
hands
- The previous rule only applies to the first pair in a group joining hands. So if a
third person joins, they are completely vulnerable
- Kroel made it impossible to actually enter the school. So the game is actually like
a game of tag, and not so much hide and seek
- Everyone is given the physical abilities of themselves at the end of their real life
- Everyone is given a watch displaying the players amount of money and
remaining time in the game
- Each player can spend money through their watch to use special skills
- Skill 1: 10M per use, unlimited uses -> Search. The user is told the amount of
other players within a 50 meter radius. Not the direction, just the number.
- Skill 2: 20M per use, up to 12 uses (maximum of one use per other player) ->
Nightmare. An enemy player relives a traumatic experience for less than a
second
- Skill 3: 100M per use, unlimited uses -> Teleportation. The user is teleported to a
random location within 100 meters
- Skill 4: 1 Billion, one use -> Change. The user can swap the status (it and safe)
of two players within their sight or themself with a player within sight.
- The money the watch uses is from the prelims. So whatever you won is what
you're able to use
- Kroel says the current balance of each player is not completely public. Meaning
the watch must not display the remaining balance at all times
- Whoever survives will have their current balance multiplied by ten

Kroel takes out 13 playing cards (Ace to king) upside down and tells people to
take one. The face cards will be the starting its. Everyone is transported and the game
begins.

Game start:

Yuki immediately recognizes the school. Madoka High. Both Yuki and his sister
attend the school. Yuki goes to check her balance, but Fugudoku grabs her wrist from
behind and says “I caught you”. Yuki struggles out of Fugudokus grip but can't escape.
Fugudoku tells Yuki shes it. Only Yuki's left hand is being held down behind her, but
Yuki still can't escape Fugudokus grip. Yuki says she cant move, and asks why
Fugudoku hasn't turned her into an it yet. Fugudoku says she's not Yuki's enemy, and
says Yuki looks like someone she loves. Yuki says Fugudoku has the wrong person.
Fugudoku calls Yuki cold “just like them” then suggests she and Yuki team up. Yuki
refuses. Yuki suspects Fugudoku to be someone untrustworthy. Fugudoku holds Yuki's
back and says “then I'll just make you it”. Fugudoku gives Yuki a countdown to zero, but
is snuck up on by Niseko who says “gotch-”. Fugudoku freaks out, jumps back, and
asks who Niseko is. Fugudoku says nobodys ever been able to sneak up on her.
Fugudoku teleports away in search of easier prey. Yuki explains to Niseko why
Fugudoku probably isnt it. Niseko tries to grab Yukis hand, but Yuki smacks it away.
Niseko, similar to Fugudoku, says she isnt Yukis enemy, but rather her ally. Yuki says
people only say that when trying to trick someone. Niseko says she just wants to get
along with a fellow classmate, as they were both students of Madoka High. Yuki asks
Niseko if trying to gain info is such a good idea, as Yuki is also gaining info about
Nisekos identity. Niseko says thats fine, in fact shed be happy if Yuki figured out her
identity. Yuki asks (rhetorically) who Niseko is. Niseko says bye and leaves. But also
asks Yuki to not die. But then Niseko comes back, says “I almost forgot, I had
something to wanted to give you, please take this”, then activates nightmare on Yuki.
Yuki has a flashback to when she was a child Ryouma. Ryouma watched as his father
shot his mother in the head. Yuki starts screaming “why, why, why…did you kill her?
Dad!”. Niseko says she thought she could learn something by using nightmare. Niseko
says she hit the jackpot.

Time Remaining: 56:20

Reina hears screaming, then Niseko shows up behind her. Niseko asks Reina if
she'd like to team up. Reina reasons Niseko is it without a doubt. She has no suspicion
of another player, only an it would be in that state. Reina says no. Niseko says she
better look somewhere else. Niseko then says she was actually it until now. Reina asks
what shes talking about. Niseko says she just tagged Yuki. She says she used
nightmare on Yuki, then teleported near Reina. Reina demands Niseko answers a
question before she leaves. The question Reina asked is why Niseko didnt hesitate to
proposing a team. Niseko says thats easy, if she suspected everyone she could never
be safe. Niseko says she believes the game is a test of peoples faith in each other.
Nanashi runs by saying she doesnt want to die. Niseko says that means Nanashi must
be safe. Niseko starts going after Nanashi, but Reina says theres no need. Reina says
she is safe as well and demands Niseko teams with her. Niseko takes Reinas hands
and says thanks. Oh and also gotcha. Niseko says she was it and didnt expect Reina to
fall for that so easily. Niseko warns Reina to tag someone fast, as if the safes all team
up the its have no chance of surviving. Niseko then teleports away.

Flashback to Nisekos interaction with Yuki.

Niseko admits shes it but has no intention of tagging Yuki. Niseko says all shes is
done is lie in these games, but not being Yukis enemy is the truth.

Flashforward

Sara finds Nanashi and says because shes running away she must also be safe.
Sara pleads with Nanashi to team with her.

Time Remaining: 52:32

Sara says shes thought of a way to end the game and absolutely must survive.
Nanashi asks Sare to share it, but Sara says she cant. Sara steps forward to shake
hands with Nanashi, but Nanashi calls her a liar, says shes it, and runs away.

Reina uses search and finds two people. She sees Niseko next to Liv. Niseko
spots Reina and tells Liv that Reina is it. Niseko tells Liv to take her hand. Reina uses
nightmare on Niseko and closes the gap between them. Just as Reinas about to grab
Niseko, Niseko grabs Liv and shoves her between them. Reina touches Liv as she says
Gotcha, is knocked back, and still it. Liv and Niseko are now invincible. Reina resolves
to use change on the next person she sees, as she reasons potential money isnt worth
her life. Nanashi runs near Reina without noticing her. Reina tries using change on
Nanashi, but Nanashi notices Reina and uses teleport at a time that allowed her to
dodge change. Reina still loses 1 billion yen and her ability to use change.

Time Remaining: 47:20

Yuki happened to be in some bushes nearby thanks to her nightmare, so she

now knows that change can be dodged with teleport and that Reina is it. Yuki leaves the
area without Reina noticing.
Reina asks for her big brothers help to herself. Recette comes out of some
nearby bushes asking if Reina has a big brother and if she's a little sister or brother.
Reina says perhaps she is a little sister as she's the daughter of the Joushouji family.
Recette says she sees, but right now Reina is it. Reina runs up to Recette, places her
palm on her and says gotcha. Recette doesn't move. Reina is still it. Recette explains its
natural nothing happened as Recette is also it. Reina gets upset. Recette asks Reina if
she wants to live and see her brother again. Reina says she does. Recette tells Reina
they're going to search for safes together so Reina can do so. Recette says she has a
plan.
Kiran pleads with Kaede that she's safe. Kaede doesn't believe her. Kiran offers
Kaede being allowed to touch her boobs (I forgot to mention, Kaede is heavily implied to
be a guy). Kaede accepts, but Fugudoku interrupts saying Kiran is it. Kaede changes
her mind and runs away from Kiran. Kiran chases. Rin shows up in front of Fugudoku
and calls her meddling. Rin asks if Fugudoku has grown so bored of the real world she's
come to limbo just to tear shit up. Fugudoku asks Rin if she's caught on to her identity.
Rin says yes, but not even she knows an exact name. Rin explains in the real world
Fugudoku was a psychotic killer who kills for fun known as Tetrodotoxin. (Narratively,
Rin and Fugudoku seem OP as hell in this verse)
Yuki's thinking to herself again. She wants to pair with someone safe as soon as
possible. She needs info on who is and isn't it (obviously). Yuki feels like someone is
watching her. She uses search and finds one person in the area. Shouko pops out of a
bush (what is with people and bushes here?) and tells Yuki she knows of two its.
Recette and Reina. Shouko also tells Yuki that Niseko and Liv are holding hands. And
the locations of various players: Nanashi is heading toward the schoolyard, Sara is at
the tennis courts, Kiran is near the gym, Kaede is heading towards the tennis courts,
Fugudoku and Rin are in the schoolyard, Shizuku is beside the pool. Shouko tells Yuki
that the last it is unknown to her and warns Yuki not to go near Fugudoku, as Fugudoku
is Shouko’s “prey”. Shouko plans to kill her. Shouko leaves. Yuki was left very confused
why Shouko just gave that information (As am I, I don't recall this being explained, it
would probably be explained if the author got to continue his work).
Niseko is bored, especially since Liv won't talk to her. Niseko plans to “play” with
everyone else.

Time Remaining: 47:20 (Is what the manga says, I think the author forgot to
update this as this portion was not a flashback)

Reina asks Recette if she really has a plan. Recette confirms. Reina demands
Recette explain the plan before she does anything with her. Recette explains: Recette
and Reina will hold hands, pretending to be safe. Looking especially happy and
unbothered would help convince others. Then they'll get near safes and tag them. Reina
gets upset with how simple the plan is. Reina points out that not only would they have to
get close to safes, but they need to find two people not holding hands. Reina says they
can't aim for a single safe as they'd fight over who gets it. Recette says they can target
only one person, as Recette is fine with only Reina tagging them and becoming safe.
Reina asks if Recette understands that that means Recette would be helping for
nothing. Recette says she's fine with it. Reina’s suspicious of how good this is. Reina
says she understands but needs to ask a question she's been wondering for a while.
Reina asks Recette if she's eaten a person before. Recette starts freaking out. Reina
runs away. Recette grabs Reina and says she's not going anywhere, and that she'll
save her. Reina uses nightmare on Recette and runs again.
Kiran starts talking on a megaphone. Kiran says she's going to hold an event and
everyone who attends must be safe. Kiran says they'll gather all the safes and end the
game. Kiran says some of the its might show up but she has a perfect plan to find them.
Kiran says every safe should meet in 5 minutes at the morning assembly area and ends
her announcement.
Seven initially, including Kiran, show up. Rin, Fugudoku, Kiran, Sora, Shizuku,
and Nanashi. Yuki shows up ten seconds late and asks if she can still join. Kiran
catches onto the reason Yuki did this immediately and is pissed about it but pretends
not to be and accepts Yuki into the group. Yuki asks for Kirans method to weed out the
its. Kiran says to leave that to her but first she has news. Reina is watching the group
from afar, trying to figure out a way to join in. Recette shows up behind her, saying she
needs to save her. Reina tries to join the group but Recette stops her. Recette tells
Reina she cant go to them, as they all know Reina is it. Reina asks how. Liv and Niseko
show up. Niseko says she told Kiran. Niseko says Recette seems to be getting along
well with Reina, meaning she must be it as well. Niseko says shes going to go tell
everyone and heads over to Kirans gathering. Reina tries to go after her but Recette
holds her back. Recette says Reina is a little sister, so she needs to protect her. Recette
declaresher and Reina will crash the gathering as its.

— Okay, I'm like less than halfway through the manga. This is taking too long. Ive
decided to give up on the summary and just list Yuki’s feats —

Ill just explain a few important things for Yuki: Yuki was the third starting it, Kiran asked
everyone to share their starting card, Yuki convinced Shouko to tell Yuki her card before
the gathering (she wanted to use Shouko’s card so hers wouldn't be a face card or
overlapping, as Shouko wasn't going to attend), Kirans gathering was a charade so she
could find a safe to team with (Nanashi), Nanashi betrayed Kiran after seeing Sara risk
her life to do the right thing, Yuki saved Nanashi from Kiran, Yuki and Nanashi held
hands to become “invincible”, Yuki betrayed Nanashi in the final ten seconds, Rin
tagged Yuki after that, Kaede is someone Yuki knows in the real world, someone
unknown switched Yuki and Kaede’s (safe) statuses. The losers are Sara, Kiran, and
Kaede. Kiran is tortured to death. Kaede is tortured, then killed by someone unknown
(likely Shouko) saying her name, and Sara’s execution is incomplete (manga ends
during it). Kiran’s torture method technically allowes Kiran to survive, but thats bs.
Kaede’s execution method only allows someone to put her out of her misery. And Sara’s
may or may not allow her to survive. There are some things you may not understand
plot wise thanks to me ending the summary here, but Yuki’s feats should hopefully still
make sense.2

- Even or Odd -> Analyzed Meganeko and Reina emotionally by the confession of
the first round at the latest. Both that Reina would assume Meganeko is lying
because she keeps glancing at Yuki, and that Yuki wouldn’t let anyone kill
themself to end the game. [Speculation](Her strategy doesn’t make sense if
Reina and Meganeko don’t do nearly exactly what they do)(Also in FSEQ)
- Tag -> Thought up her deception of a safe player plan within minutes
[Speculation](If Yuki hadn't thought of this plan, her first interaction with
Fugudoku makes little sense. Fugudoku had her subdued literally by the palm of

had a better idea, namely convincing a safe she's safe and turning on them last
minute, then she wouldn't do this)(Also in FRI)
- Tag -> Either altered (or if I'm being very generous -> created -> I’m going to call
this the idk, “Formulation Theory” version of Yuki that insanely buffs her PSI and
FRI) her entire plan to take down Kiran within 9 seconds. Her plan hinged on the
recently explained rule that those who are invincible can’t be affected by change.
Without it, Nanashi would have no reason to trust Yuki’s plan. Yuki’s plan would
literally be “I'm going to get rid of her change by doing something that may or
may not get rid of change, and don't worry, if I'm turned it, I won't target you”.
Yuki’s plan could still work for taking care of Kiran (as Yuki is it) but wouldn't help
her with convincing Nanashi of her innocence. (Also in FRI)

insanely buffs her PSI and FRI) her entire plan to take down Kiran within 9
seconds. Her plan hinged on the recently explained rule that those who are

to trust Yuki’s plan. Yuki’s plan would literally be “I'm going to get rid of her

FSEQ:

Emotional Perception:

- Even or Odd -> Analyzed Meganeko and Reina emotionally by the confession of
the first round at the latest. Both that Reina would assume Meganeko is lying
because she keeps glancing at Yuki, and that Meganeko wouldn’t let anyone kill
themself to end the game. [Speculation](Her strategy doesn’t make sense if
Reina and Meganeko don’t do nearly exactly what they do)(Also in FSIQ)

Emotional Engagement:

- Even or Odd -> Protected Meganeko from Reina’s words, didn’t react to the
dice, reacted harshly to Kroel talking about her father, mentioned she needs to
save her sister, told Meganeko she wouldn’t let her die, all to make Meganeko
think Yuki is killing herself and doing it so Yuki can live without having to kill
anyone as well as making Meganeko call Yuki out for lying. [Speculation]
- Even or Odd -> Said “it’s a fitting end for the child of a murderer”, called
Meganeko strong, as well as not a hypocrite (because Reina was accusing her of
this), and “you did that for me, didn’t you?”, to get Meganeko to say yes,
confirming Yuki’s words.
- Even or Odd -> Declared she’d kill someone in round 9 and bet just enough to
kill off Yamada in that round to make her panic

Insanity Inducement:
- Even or Odd -> Declaration part of round 9. “It looks like it’s attack time. It’s time
to make good on my declaration…Yamada”. This is said right after Yuki
intentionally reveals to Yamada that she and Reina are working together.
Yamada’s been given the information that the display board reads 2-2, Yuki just
stated that she voted odd (and confirmed with Reina that she also voted odd),
and that Meganeko is supposed to vote even on every round. This means from
Yamada’s perspective, Yuki and Reina know what she voted for.

Seeing Through People:

- Tag -> Avoids a handshake with Rin and is immediately suspicious of her being
alone after the prelim when only one of four needs to die.

FSSQ:

Social Skills:

- Even or Odd -> Made Meganeko think she’s a good person within a round
- Tag -> Got Nanashi, the most distrusting and scared character, to trust her by the
end of the game

Acting:

- Even or Odd -> Intentionally got angry at Kroel over her father being a murderer
so she could later say dying is a fitting end for her, to further manipulate
Meganeko

FSAQ:

Mental Durability/Stress Tolerance/Ruthlessness:

- Even or Odd -> Saw someone melt/fall apart, reacted slightly, still noticed there
were only 4 chairs
- Even or Odd -> Saw Meganeko being tortured, smiled
- Even or Odd -> Listened to Yamada being tortured, saw her charred body,
smiled
- Even or Odd -> After Meganeko and Yamada died, she and Reina find out that
Yamada and Meganeko were actually a couple and didn’t realize. Yuki barely
reacts.
- Tag -> (Best feat) -> When someone she knows, Kaede, is being tortured, she
refuses to say his real name so as to not reveal info about her real self. This is
what I consider to be the best feat in this cat because this is the first time Yuki is
shown to somewhat care about someone and is shaken. She still won't save him
for no benefit to her. This is especially ruthless and mentally durable considering
Kroel made it very clear Kaede knew Yuki's real name but was refusing to say it
while being tortured (which buffs Kaede’s Mental Durability far beyond Yuki’s, but
still)
- Tag -> Immediately after someone unknown puts Kaede out of their misery, she
tries to figure out who it was who said his name.
- Decay Hell (Sara’s Execution) -> When Sara’s execution method is revealed to
be three days long, Yuki tells Kroel to hurry this tf up

Adaptability:

- Even or Odd -> Immediately teamed up with Reina when she suspected
Yamada would team with Meganeko

Leadership:

- Even or Odd -> Led Reina to victory with the most money from the game
- Tag -> Sure, led Nanashi to her near death. But besides Yuki herself, she
relieved Nanashi of Kiran, her biggest threat

Deception/Misdirection:

- Even or Odd -> Didn’t react to any of the dice rolls, to lure Meganeko into
thinking Yuki’s trying to kill herself.
- Even or Odd -> Declared she’d kill someone in round 9. In reality, the statement
was just so Yamada and Meganeko would panic and Yamada would kill
Meganeko or herself
- Tag -> By far her best feat in this category is convincing Nanashi (the most
distrustful and scared player) she’s safe which had multiple layers:
- Getting Shouko’s card so hers doesn’t overlap with anyones, thereby
lending some credibility to Yuki starting safe [why would Shouko or
Fugudoku (the two Nanashi didn't have an idea of the card for) tell Yuki
their card unless holding the exact event Kiran did, which they obviously
didn't]
- Being one to constantly pressure Kiran into giving her a sure way of
finding the its. An it would be cornered had Kiran actually had such a plan
(other than the one time plan she used against Reina)
- Her plan for crushing Kiran. Her plan involved holding hands with Nanashi
so she's invincible. This obviously wouldn't be necessary for an it, who’s
already safe from other its.
- Even after holding hands with Nanashi, not saying gotcha. From
Nanashi’s perspective it wouldn't make sense not to say gotcha once you
can get rid of it immediately (unless you also thought of Yuki’s plan)
- After she and Nanashi clasp hands, she asks Nanashi if she still wants to
stay invincible together once out of Kiran's range. This was to give
Nanashi the idea that Yuki is also being cautious (Also in Manipulation)
- When Sara thanks Yuki for protecting Nanashi, Yuki says she's not trying
to protect Nanashi, just the one thing she needs to (talking about her sister
but implying herself)(this is an example of paltering, btw. Yuki’s telling the
truth in a misleading way). This lends credibility to Yuki not trying anything,
as it would make most sense to pretend you're being generous if you're
trying to trick someone. Its far more believable that a player only cares
about their own life in a game like this (Also in Manipulation)

Risk Taking/Calculation:
- Even or Odd -> Sacrificing 7.5 million of her initial 10 million over the first two
rounds to win nearly 60 million in the third. This gives her less than what could’ve
been won in that time (70 million), but only risks 7.5 million (if her analysis of
Meganeko and Reina turned out wrong), instead of 40 million (if someone attacks
her on the third round and it's a lie). Also, this risky play allowed her to confuse
and scare the other two players, so they would hold off on challenging her.
Strategy/Planning:

- Even or Odd -> Formed her strategy to take down Meganeko by the first round
confessions at the latest.
- Even or Odd -> Defended/helped Meganeko and mock sacrificed herself so
Meganeko would refute her all in play. This was to give off the sense of someone
dangerous to deal with, and to give the other players a weakened target.
- Even or Odd -> Not letting Meganeko die immediately (leaving her with one yen)
so she can continue to get money from the game.
- Even or Odd -> Teaming up with Reina in anticipation of Meganeko and Yamada
teaming up. Since then, planning to inflate Yamada’s confidence (by letting her
and Meganeko take money from Yuki) then corner her so she attacks Meganeko.
This plan, however, relied on Yamada losing the 9th round. Which was a coin flip.
It might seem like it relies on her losing the 9th OR the 10th (which bumps the
chance up to 75%), but in reality, by surviving the 9th round, Yamada would
realize Yuki was bluffing and would have no reason to feel cornered or to turn on
Meganeko
- Tag -> Prevented Reina from giving away information to Rin
- Tag -> Took a bath to figure out who was a man or a woman
- Tag -> Intentionally showed up slightly late to Kiran's gathering so she could still
reasonably join, but got to see what was happening and how many were
participating before going near anyone.
- Tag -> She was it at the beginning of the game. She decided to pair up with a
safe, convince them they’re invincible with her, and then turn on them by the end
of the game
- Tag -> Used nightmare on Kiran after saving Nanashi so she can negotiate with
her
- Tag -> Yuki's plan to defeat Kiran and her one time change:
- Have Nanashi cause a scene, yelling at Yuki about making her a pawn
and then teleporting (so Kiran doesn't see her stop running), running a lap
around the school to further make sure Kiran doesnt see and hiding in a
nearby bush (left a marker for her)
- Was going to draw a map of the school but Nanashi refused
- Told Nanashi to run away in case of emergency (Kiran not using change)
for two reasons: Nanashi further trusts Yuki thanks to Yuki telling her “I'm
nobody to you, just run” and more importantly: if Nanashi runs away, she
won't see Kiran's manual tag of Yuki failing, so she wont know Yuki is it
and it puts Yuki at no risk
- Declared she’ll crush Kiran directly to her
- Grabbing Kiran's wrists if she gets near
- Initially facing Kiran head on, intentionally not running away (to make
Kiran wary of her, so she can figure out Yuki is trying to crush her
change)(Also in Manipulation)
- Reacting with going near her watch if Kiran tries to use change (so Kiran
realizes that teleportation may be able to avoid change -> search does
nothing, she already used nightmare on Kiran, counter change is risky and
insanely expensive)(Also in Manipulation)
- Allowing Kiran to use nightmare on her (this gives Kiran confidence, and
gives Yuki a reason in Kiran's eyes to run away)(Also in Manipulation)
- Running away from Kiran, towards the bush Nanashi is hiding in
- Tripping when near Nanashi (intentionally made a mistake she’s shown
she wouldn't make so Kiran thinks she wants her to come closer)(Also in
Manipulation)
- Clasping hands with Nanashi when Kiran uses change on Yuki. This not
only gets rid of Kiran’s one use of change, but also helps convince
Nanashi that Yuki was determined to avoid becoming it (and consequently,
trustworthy)
- Finally, using the megaphone Kiran previously used to tell everyone she's
it. It would be a major issue if Kiran, someone now with a grudge, made it
into the next game (I mean nobody did, but still)

Manipulation:

- Even or Odd -> Helped Meganeko with Reina’s provocations, bet half of her
money every round to make Meganenko think she’s sacrificing herself, then
going all in on the round after Meganeko called Yuki out for trying to kill herself,
all to get Meganeko to call her out for lying, so she doesn’t die, then gave a
wholesome speech directly asking “That’s why you stopped my confession, that’s
why you refuted it by saying it was a lie”, thereby giving Yuki all of Meganeko’s
money.
- Even or Odd -> Employed her entire strategy to earn the money in the third
round, not just to earn the money in a way that minimizes risk of attack, but to
make her other enemies think she’s unstable and dangerous, so they refrain from
challenging her.
- Even or Odd -> Got Reina to be the one to ask Kroel if she’s okay with the rule
changes and got Reina to goad Yamada into accepting the double double sixes
challenge. (As a seemingly impartial player, her word would carry more weight
than the person about to lose) [Speculation]
- Tag -> Saving Nanashi from Kiran so she can get a favor from her (and use her
for the endgame)
- Tag -> Allowing Kiran to use nightmare on her (this gives Kiran confidence, and
gives Yuki a reason in Kiran's eyes to run away)(Also in Strategy/Planning)
- Tag -> Initially facing Kiran head on, intentionally not running away (to make
Kiran wary of her, so she can figure out Yuki is trying to crush her change)(Also
in Strategy/Planning)
- Tag -> Reacting with going near her watch if Kiran tries to use change (so Kiran
realizes that teleportation may be able to avoid change -> search does nothing,
she already used nightmare on Kiran, counter change is risky and insanely
expensive)(Also in Strategy/Planning)
- Tag -> Tripping when near Nanashi (intentionally made a mistake she’s shown
she wouldn't make so Kiran thinks she wants her to come closer)(Also in
Strategy/Planning)
- Tag -> After she and Nanashi clasp hands, she asks Nanashi if she still wants to
stay invincible together once out of Kiran's range. This was to give Nanashi the
idea that Yuki is also being cautious (Also in Deception/Misdirection)
- Tag -> When Sara thanks Yuki for protecting Nanashi, Yuki says she's not trying
to protect Nanashi, just the one thing she needs to (talking about her sister but
implying herself)(this is an example of paltering, btw. Yuki’s telling the truth in a
misleading way). This lends credibility to Yuki not trying anything, as it would
make most sense to pretend you're being generous if you're trying to trick
someone. Its far more believable that a player only cares about their own life in a
game like this (Also in Deception/Misdirection)

Perception/Observation:
- Even or Odd -> Immediately after someone died gruesomely, she noticed there
were only 4 chairs for the game
- Even or Odd -> Managed to analyze Reina and Meganeko before the second
round
- Tag -> Noticing Shouko was watching everyone instead of looking at her food
once
- Tag -> Seeing the issue with Kiran’s strategy to find the its. Even if you get all of
the cards, you only know who’s it at the start of the game.
- Tag -> Noticed after Kiran whispered to Nanashi, Nanashi, the most skittish
character, suddenly seemed to feel safe
- Tag -> Noticed how BS Kirans and Kaedes executions were, so couldn't agree
with Nishina on Sara possibly surviving (Also in Reasoning)

Reasoning:

- Even or Odd -> Before Yamada and Meganeko teamed up figured out they had
to be betting on opposite dice rolls to use the display board to win
- Even or Odd -> Because she vaguely knew Meganeko in some way, she
reasoned that she must know Reina in some way.
- Tag -> Reasoned that Reina slapping her in the bath means she is a woman.
Yuki declares no guy would slap someone out of embarrassment over their body.
While I'm inclined to agree, I'm not sure any woman would either, but idk.
- Tag -> Found it odd Niseko brought glasses into the bath as they'd get fogged
up. Immediately, it was revealed Niseko didn't wear glasses in her life. Not totally
sure if Yuki reasoned this.
- Tag -> Reasoned that Shizuku covering herself and punching Yuki indicates
she's a she.
- Tag -> Knew Fugudoku was it because of her constant stretching out of their
interaction and her reaction to Niseko
- Tag -> Noticed how BS Kirans and Kaedes executions were, so couldn't agree
with Nishina on Sara possibly surviving (Also in Perception/Observation)
- Decay Hell (Sara’s Execution) -> Reasoned that the reason Nanashi survived is
because Sara switched statuses with her. She got this from Nanashi being safe,
Sara being executed, and Nanashi being obsessed with saving Sara

Prediction/Anticipation/Intuition:

- Even or Odd -> Predicted Reina would attack Meganeko and lose because
Meganeko was wrapped up in thinking about Yuki. [Speculation] (it’s very
possible she just decided Meganeko was the weakest and the one she should
target, no matter what happens)
- Even or Odd -> Predicted Yamada and Meganeko would team up
- Tag -> Intuitively decided Kiran's plan wasn't actually to find the its
Luck:

- Even or Odd -> Kroel adding the board in stage 4. Meganeko clearly isn’t a good
actor (especially now that she’s in pain), so there’d still be a good chance of
knowing if she lied, but the board just made her reaction all the more lethal for
her.
- Even or Odd -> Yamada being the one designated to vote on odd or rolling odd
in round 9. If Meganeko had been the one to switch votes out of fear, she would
have been less likely to realize Yuki and Reina were working together, and
Yamada would have no pressure applied to her. Yuki’s whole plan was
dependent on Yamada being the one cornered.
- Tag -> Someone unknown saving her at the end of the game. Literally would
have ended for her had this not happened

Anti-Feats/Statements:
- Given how she acts throughout the games, she either figured out who her sister
is with minimal hints, or never even considered her sister might be in the game.
The former seems less likely as she does near nothing to save her sister.
- Even or Odd -> Doesn't make sense. Everyone’s there to get money, I get it. But
if you’re clearly being targeted, losing, and have more than 10 yen, you can't die
and have no reason to take a risk. I get it, if nobody dies then everyone dies. But
if you're going to die either way, you might as well make it so someone else has
to kill themselves if they want everyone else to survive. That way it's at least
possible to survive. Yamada in round 9. Even if the roll disagreed with what she
bets on, just tell the truth. Sure, Yamada loses a lot of money, but Yuki cant
challenge her, and Yamada would obviously lose all of her money if she died.
Yamada would still have just under 8 million, and at this point in the game, you
literally just need 2 yen to survive. Just bet 1 yen, take the L, and either live or
die depending on if everyone else employs the same strategy. There is
absolutely no reason to attack another player if you're being threatened,
especially when it’s a death threat, so Yuki’s manipulation of Yamada to attack
Meganeko is stupid. I could be convinced to blame the writing and still allow Yuki
these feats but for now I'm leaving them out of the cat.
- Even or Odd -> End of the game, couldn’t control her emotions. She grabs Kroel
and demands Kroel send them back. Kroel’s cool about this, but this easily
could’ve led to Yuki’s death.
- Tag -> Pointing out to Niseko she's using glasses weirdly gave Niseko the idea
that Yuki wore glasses. This was a blunder that easily could've killed her.
Everyone knows each other in some way, glasses narrow down the list of people
tremendously.
- Tag -> Betraying Nanashi 10 seconds from the end of the game. This was far too
long. This allowed Rin to tag her (granted, Rin is just busted narratively). The
only reason Yuki didn't die is because someone who will never be revealed
switched her and Kaede.
- For someone trying to hide her true identity, she acts too much like her real world
counterpart. Three characters, Sara, Kaede, and Niseko (also Reina is
suspicious) were all confirmed to figure out her identity, literally because she's
acting like herself.

Quotes (Only Found One I Liked):
