Handbook for payments via SWIFT Going into operation for migration to remoteGATE

A.5 Going into operation for migration to remoteGATE

This section describes how to go into operation for SIC/euroSIC participants with a
SIC/euroSIC platform interface who want to convert it to remoteGATE.

A.5.1 Requirements

The following conditions are required:

• Application for participation
• Participation in the SIC/euroSIC system
• SWIFT production and test system
• Closed User Group Registration
• SWIFT RMA
• Completed test procedure and authorization from SIX Interbank Clearing

A.5.1.1 SIC/euroSIC documentation

The following documentation is to be provided by the financial institution:

Form (SIC/euroSIC)
Application for participation
Person in charge of service
SWIFT – CUG confirmation
SWIFT RMA
Online form: BC Segment (Test/Production)
Online form: Settlement Segment (Test/Production)

A.5.2 SIC/euroSIC master data

SIX Interbank Clearing requires the relevant master data sheets (BC Segment/Settle-
ment Segment) at least fifteen days before the start of test or production operation.
These can be filled in by the financial institution on the Extranet and submitted online.
It is not possible for test or production operation to begin without the correct master
data. For the online forms BC Segment (Test/Production) and Settlement Segment
(Test/Production), a data entry aid is available.

A.5.3 Timing

The average lead time before productive operation can begin is 6 weeks from the
receipt of the completed documentation at SIX Interbank Clearing. Experience shows
this to be the average length of time, but it depends among other things on whether all
the tests are successful. In some cases the process may take longer. A financial
institution states its preferred date for commencing production when it submits its
application. This is confirmed or adjusted by SIX Interbank Clearing. It is only possible
for this date to be altered to a limited extent, because that then affects the timing for
other financial institutions. SIX Interbank Clearing therefore reserves the right to
refuse requests to alter the date.
