USPTU is a strong national research center that trains highly qualified specialists for oil and gas and
other companies from all over the world. USPTU constantly adopts innovative learning technologies,
develops the digital and virtual infrastructure for professional training based on interactive full-scale
simulators, computer models and systems. The university includes 4 Faculties, 5 Institutes, 2 Higher
Schools, the Institute of Additional Professional Education, an engineering center, and a youth
technopark, and offers Bachelor´s and Master´s, postgraduate and doctoral study programs.

The Industrial University of Tyumen (IUT), being country’s No.1 petroleum engineering university, is
situated in Tyumen region, ‘Russia’s oil and gas capital’; here, approximately 90 per cent of Russian
gas and 60 per cent of Russian oil is situated.Thus, nearly the entire teaching stuff consists of
academics with oil and gas production background, and all the students get on-hands experience in
oil and gas companies during their studies and are quickly recruited by these companies upon
graduation; according to expert opinion, 65 to 70 per cent of all the oil and gas industry-employed
graduates are the IUT graduates. Thanks to that, IUT was recognized both as Tyumen region’s
Flagship university and Gazprom Flagship university – a status that only few universities in Russia
have.But IUT is not only about petroleum engineering; it is one of the largest research and
educational complexes in Russia, with about 25,000 students studying 74 Bachelor’s, 52 Master’s
and Specialist’s programs, including Transport Studies, Construction and Architecture, Material
Science, etc. But it is not only about studying here. IUT has sport and leisure facilities, which are free
for students. And in Tyumen, which is ranked by ‘Russian Reporter’ as Russia’s No. 1 city in terms of
living conditions (2015-2019), there is a lot to do when not studying, including enjoying beautiful
Siberian nature.Moreover, Tyumen is international city, with a lot of international companies’ offices
situated in the city center, and a lot of foreigners, too, many of whom have chosen IUT as their study
destination. Nowadays, in IUT, there are about 1,500 international students from Canada, Columbia,
China, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Venezuela, Ghana, Egypt, Vietnam, Azerbaijan, etc.

Gubkin University is the leading institution in the system of higher oil and gas education in Russia.

Gubkin University is a powerful national research center and a real source of manpower for the
Russian oil and gas industry. According to the proportion of budget income from research, the
University is in top rank among the Russian industry universities.

Gubkin University was founded in 1930 by the outstanding scientist, academician Ivan Gubkin. For
almost a century, the University has trained more than 90,000 diploma engineers, Candidates and
Doctors of Sciences.
