Cisco DNA Center Cloud

Steps for getting started with Cisco DNA Center Cloud

This section provides the steps to take to start using our Cisco DNA Center Cloud product. Currently, the product is
supported on the Cisco® Embedded Wireless Controller on Catalyst Access Points and Cisco Catalyst® 9200 Series
Switches. A Cisco DNA license is also required for each device that is to be managed in the cloud. Each Cisco DNA
license has only one product ID (PID), which can be used interchangeably on-premises or in the cloud. This solution is
currently available in the United States only. For more information on how to get started with Cisco DNA Center Cloud,
please visit our website here. See below for the specific steps needed to get started.
1. Ensure that you have compatible hardware in place. Currently we support the Cisco Embedded Wireless Controller on Catalyst Access
Points and Cisco Catalyst 9200 Series Switches (see Tables 1 and 2 below for compatible hardware SKUs). If you need to order this

2. All Cisco Embedded Wireless Controllers on Catalyst Access Points or 9200 Series switches come with a mandatory Cisco DNA license.
If you need additional Cisco DNA licenses, you can purchase them at our Cisco ordering homepage (Tables 3, 4, and 5 show the
compatible licenses). Click the following link if you need access to Cisco Commerce.
3. If you have not already done so, you will need to also sign up for a Cisco.com account and a Cisco Smart Account. Please see the
following link for more information on Cisco Smart Accounts.
4. Once you have a Cisco DNA License for your Cisco Embedded Wireless Controller on Catalyst Access Points and your 9200 Series
switches, as well as a Cisco.com account that is linked to a Smart Account, head over to https://dnacentercloud.cisco.com/auth/login to log
in to your Cisco DNA Center Cloud account and get started.

Steps for getting started with A Smart Account is a central data repository that provides visibility and access control to all the

store, manage, and move assets across locations and devices and begin to use them immediately.

Access Point SKUs After a Smart Account has been set up, you have the flexibility to create subaccounts (virtual accounts)
to help manage licenses for departments, areas, or locations within their organization. Licenses can be

Smart Licensing
Smart Licensing is a cloud-based platform built to simplify the purchase, deployment, and management
of Cisco software assets. Entitlements are immediately deposited into your Smart Account for use.
This eliminates the need to install license files on every device. Products that are Smart License
enabled communicate to Cisco to report consumption. The primary location for managing product
registration and monitoring Smart License consumption is the Cisco Smart Software Manager. License
ownership and consumption are readily available to help you make better purchase decisions based on
consumption or other business needs.

Steps for getting started with For new customer orders from the early access release in November 2019 through General Availability

Upon GA, the ordering process for new customer orders and renewal orders will include separate PIDs

Series Switching SKUs the applicable selection at time of order. For example, a renewal order that reflects Cisco DNA Center
Cisco DNA licenses for Cisco Catalyst 9100 Cloud will be taxed in the United States only for those states that do not exempt software-as-a-service
Access Points (SaaS) offers from sales tax.

Cisco DNA licenses for Cisco Catalyst 9200-L For customers under a Cisco DNA Center on-premises subscription that elect to switch over to cloud
Series Switches management midterm, there will be no refund or credit for taxes paid on the on-premises subscription.
Cisco DNA licenses for Cisco Catalyst 9200 Tax treatment will change only in connection with a new or renewal order reflecting the selection of the
Series Switches Cisco DNA Center Cloud option once the dual PID structure is available.

Other considerations Partners, where applicable, should confirm that they have a valid resale certificate on file with Cisco to
ensure that no taxes are included on the Cisco DNA subscription invoice billed to the partner by Cisco.
