Join Forehead Horn Seam and join onto the Forehead

Ref. Fig. 23
With WS together, fold across the cast-on edge and join the row ends together by
over-sewing or with mattress stitch - you can add a little armature wire here if you
wanted but seal the sharp edge first with a little blue-tack them sew the horn seam
around the wire before the next step:
Wiggle the horn into the Forehead Horn Gap, adjust the horn so that the seam is
facing toward the back of the head, sew in place by whip-stitching all around the
base of the horn onto the forehead - you can either work this seam from the inside
of the nose (if you an manage it) or carefully and neatly onto the outside/ knit-side.
- See Fig. 23, join the Forehead Horn all around its base onto the forehead adding a
little wire into the horn if you wish

If you want to add wire to the

forehead horns, cut a short
length of armature wire
(about 22 gauge) and wrap a

ADD EYES Join Plate to the Neck

Ref. Fig 24 Ref. Fig. 25
Refer to the photo for eye placement and push the eyes into the side of the head NOTE: This is the last chance you have of adding any more stuffing.

making sure they are symmetrical and you are happy with the placement before Begin by folding the Plate over at the top edge so that row ends and WS meet and
securing the eyes permanently with the washer backs. press flat with an iron (check the iron temperature compatibility with your yarn
choice first).
Match the Plate Back Cast-off Edge with the Neck Cast-On Edge and mattress
stitch to join. - See Fig. 25, join dotted line A to dotted line B

Join Plate to the Neck cont... FINAL DETAILS

Ref. Figs. 26 & 27 Ref. Fig. 28
Join the remaining Plate edges by working grey, Dot Detailing as follows:
Then, working on one side at a time, join the cast-on edge to the cast-off edge
at the side of the plate with mattress stitch. - See Fig. 26, join dotted line A to Thread up a longish length of yarn A.
dotted line B Secure the end near where the first grey dot is to be and work three over-sew
And finish by closing the tiny gaps at the side of the plate with a few mattress stitches over and over each other for the first grey dot - as you do so you are
stitches. - See Fig. 27, join dotted line A to dotted line B sandwiching the Front Plate with the Back Plate.
The dots then get sewn equidistant all around the front and back plates - abut 3
rows/ 6mm/ 1/4in apart from each other.

Toe Nails
Ref. Figs. 29 & 30

Thread up a longish length of yarn A.

Secure the end near where the first Toe Nail is to be and work three over-sew stitches over
and over each other for the first Toe Nail - as you do so you are working over the picot
edges created when knitting the feet.

I have also worked a ‘Face Squish’ between the forehead horns and between the eyes:
To make the basic face squish bend a length of yarn B in half and pass the cut ends
through a yarn sewing needle.
Pass the threaded needle through one side of the head, near the eye, and out at the other
side of the head, near the other eye, then back in to emerge back out near where you
started.
Pull up the yarn to squish the face a little and secure the thread.
Work a similar ‘face squish’ either side of the two horns.
NOTE: Don’t pull too tightly, it’s subtle shaping you’re after.
