Remarks :-

 Early start is given

 Duration is given
 To get early finish we add early start with the given duration
 We will get the float by subtracting network path durations of the activities from the critical
path number.
 To get the late start we add float number of the activity with its early start. ES + Float = LS
 To get the late finish we add the float number of the activity with its early finish. EF + Float = LF

2. List the network paths

The network paths of the above diagram will be as follow:-

1. A C G H J (5+3+2+5+3= 18)
2. A C G I (5+3+2+7= 17)
3. B C G H J (2+3+2+5+3= 15)
4. B C G I (2+3+2+7= 14)
5. D F G H J (5+4+2+5+3= 19)
6. D F G I (5+4+2+7= 18)
7. E F G H J (6+4+2+5+3= 20) This is a critical path
8. E F G I (6+4+2+7= 19)

3. Determine the critical path

E F G H J This is critical path

4. Determine the float for each activity

To get the float for each activity we subtract the sum of the path numbers on which the
activity lied on from the critical path number.

 Float for A ----- 20 – 18 = 2

 Float for B ----- 20 – 15 = 5
 Float for C ----- 20 – 18 = 2
 Float for D ----- 20 – 19 = 1
 Float for E ----- 20 – 20 = 0
 Float for F ----- 20 – 20 = 0
 Float for G ----- 20 – 20 = 0
 Float for H ----- 20 – 20 = 0
 Float for I ----- 20 – 19 = 1
 Float for J ----- 20 – 20 = 0
