Place eyes between rows 9 and 10, leaving 11 holes between them. 1st eye is placed before
the 2nd increase. Count 11 holes after the first eye and place the 2nd eye. If you want the
sunken eye look, do not place the backs of the eyes on until row 20.
TIP! You may have to adjust the eye placement depending on yarn and hook size you use.

18. (4 sc, dec) x 6= 30
19. (3 sc, dec) x 6= 24
20. (2 sc, dec) x 6= 18
Now for the eyes. Stuff the head well. Cut a long piece of yarn and remove the eyes. Place the
needle in the hole where the first eye was and thread the needle into a hole next to the eye
hole. Go back and forth between each eye hole repeating the process from the first eye. Pull
slightly on the yarn after going through each hole. Do this about 3 times on each side until you
reach the look you want. Follow the pictures for help. There is also a youtube video I have for
extra help on this process.

To place the backs of the eyes you will need to remove most of the stuffing to place the
washers on the eyes then re stuff it.

Assembly

Head and Body:

1. Pin the head to the body for extra support. You may need to add more stuffing as you
sew.
2. Sew the head to the body.

Sweet Oddity Art 8

Arms:
1. Pin the arms into a forward angle on the side of the body underneath the
neck. There are no certain row placements as I just try to decided based on look
where the arms should go.
2. Sew them onto the body.
Tip! Closing the seam by crocheting over the opening will make sewing it to the
body easier. Also the arms will lay nicely flat, instead of sticking out.

Legs:
1. Turn the body upside down with the nose facing away from you.
Pin the legs onto the bottom of the body.
There are no special rows for this, just depends on the look you would like. I
don’t place mine in between any special rows. I just judge based on how the
individual doll looks.
2. Sew the legs onto the body

Sweet Oddity Art 9

Ears:
1. Pinch the ears at the bottom and sew the ear closed, about 2 stitches up the ear.
Bring the needle back to the bottom of the ear for sewing the ear to the head.
2. Pin the ears onto the head, approximately between rounds 12 and 14.
3. Sew the ears onto the head.

Sweet Oddity Art 10

Tail:
1. Pin the tail onto the back of the body.
2. Cut one strand of Color C, D, E, F, and G. Attach the strands to the bottom of the tail.

Sweet Oddity Art 11

Nostrils:
1. Thread your needle with some white yarn and embroider 2 nostrils. Approximately
between rounds 4 and 5.

Mane:
1. Cut 8 strands of Color C, D, E, F, and G yarn. Cut 40 strands of white yarn as well.
Approximately 3 inches in length. It does not need to be exact in measurement. Start on
the pink round of the head with the pink yarn. Double strand the hair. Attach 2
strands, right next to each other, going down the back of the head. Basically like school
children in lines holding hands. You many need to cut more strands of yarn for the hair
as you work. I just start off with less than I need that way I do not cut too much.
2. Cut the yarn on the head to size. Cut it slowly so that it is not too short.

You can use different eye and nose sizes. You might have to adjust the placements if you
change the sizes.

You can use different hook sizes and weights of yarn. It will just change the size of your zebra
and you might need to adjust eye and nose placement.

How you stuff matters! The type of stuffing you use, how you stuff, all this matters on how your
zebra turns out. I prefer Polyfil stuffing but you can use other types.
